There is far too much great music out there to name all of the ones that I've loved over time. I loved the music that Blizzard used in their original cinematic art for World of Warcraft, and I got chills up my spine (possibly because of the ambient chill wind noise) when I saw the Dwarf. So much damn detail there. But if I were to name music that really got into my head over the years, it would be the Zelda games on the Nintendo 64 - Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask (MM remains my favourite Zelda game due to it's ORIGINAL STORYLINE - and cool mechanics and serious plot)
The Song of Healing is used so many times in many different, often quite adult-seriousness-levelled events, which I never truly appreciated until about a year or two ago when I played through it again... Saria's Song is always good, the Clock Town theme, the various Store songs in the background, the Song of Time... So many catchy tunes that one can build off of. I have a bit of a collection of various remixes of them, and will always be a bit of a Zelda fanboy, even as Nintendo sells out and dilutes the series with DS titles.
Edit: Oh, and my favourite game of all time would be a multiplayer Zelda deathmatch. If they could get that Z-targetting and nice, fluent, twitchy shield and sword combat in a game I would play it and buy it for all my friends. Luckily for my wallet, that'll never happen. =( Playing: Non--erm, wait, no, WoW. You all need to learn to spell. |

Need less of this lol. Its not good when players just turn on the sound effects and music when playing a game. Thank you for your hard work Mr Composer! I can understand why some people do it though, either the music sucks or it's interfering with TeamSpeak or Ventrilo. I have to say there are alot of ones I have overlooked from what most of you have gathered.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZA79eJ8wlhY (Performed by the Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra on April 16th, 2004.) This is why FFXI is the MMO closest to my heart, even 10 years after release. You didn't just play this game, the music was so robust that it put you INSIDE the game. With composers like Nobou Uemasto and Naoshi Mizuta, I can't exclame enough how the games soundtrack is exceedingly magnificent. Currently playing : WoW, Dofus. Favorite: FFXI |

Another thing I noted in WOTLK expansion, blizzard has zone/location ambiant music for day and night, so you get to listen to a dfferent track when your there in the day or night.. a great little touch I must say, blizzard doing the little things right as always. I guess this can only be employed in a game that has a long or realtime day/night rotation such as WoW. for example: Howling fjord DAY : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uxShiB1JXCY&feature=related Howling Fjord NIGHT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqa5F8RzANw&feature=related Also on the WoW 3.2 PTR I am loving the Argent Coliseum music real EPIC feel. |

Can you imagine what I would do if I could do all I can? - Sun Tsu |
I’m from the 90s generation. I’ll try to post the modern versions…
Killer Instinct – THEME OST Unreal Tournament – FACING WORLDS Rainbow Six: Raven Shield OST Metal Gear Solid: Main Theme Of course, Mario, Megaman, Final Fantasy and such were among the best as well… As for the theme song that will never leave me…

almost forgot one of the most epic boss themes ever FFVIII - The Extreme |

Yeah, that's probably my favorite track from all of FF. (The Black Mages version) Personally I think EQ2's main theme doesn't get enough attention. Probably because all the EQ1 fanboys seem to prefer the original. But EQ2's symphonic version is really amazing imo. Lost Oddysey had a lot of great tracks (Battle Theme; Boss Battle) WOW's music overall is hit and miss, but the good tracks are great. (Burning Crusade Theme) I may be sorta harsh on EVE, but damn is this a cool trailer (EVE Dominion). |

I will say outside of teldrassil, and the opening music from the first cgi movie, until WotLK the music in wow was terrible.
AoC music, which I have the CD of, was wonderful. I really love that sort of music. I did sure enjoy the music from KotORs also. It sounded Star Warsy, yet was unique at many points. Guild wars has always been wonderful music. Mr. Soule is extremely good at creating music.
I am sure there are others, but everyone enjoys a different type of music more than another. |

If I wasn't so forced to so frequently leave Cimmeria, I'd still be playing, and Conall's Valley trumps it all. http://saerain.com/video/AoC_Conall'sValley.mp4 If everything hit that perfect intersection of ambience and design.... Guild Wars and World of Warcraft take my vote. The Guild Wars opening themes for the 3 campaigns + expansion = memorable. World of Warcraft has nice enviromental music just to relax to. |

I think I'll always remember the theme to Monkey Island. I also remember loving the music to Warcraft 2, whenever it was, even the briefing page. I think I most remember the music from when I was younger, since I was just playing the game and didn't have MP3's all over the place or a TV close by. |

Oh dear, I recall making a version of the Monkey Island theme with Noise- or ProTracker on Amiga :D That song was mind-bogglingly good!  EDIT: www.youtube.com/watch |

There is lots of great music out there. I love the Ashenvale music in WoW, and although i don't play WoW anymore, it's the music that makes me sad that i left! My favourite song though has to be 'Still Alive' at the end of Portal. It was a unexpected treat for completing such a wonderful game: |

I have "Still Alive" on my Ipod. Beautiful song, it is. It's too bad Valve decided to become enemies with the PS3. Now, unless they come out with a sequel to Portal, I won't buy or even look at anything Valve related, as should any Sony fanboy worth his/her marbles. |

This trailer got me worked up for the good vs evil theme back in the day, but then I found there was no PVP in the game and the game itself was way too restricted so I dumbed it fast. But the trailer was inspiring even the music. |

I really like some of the songs in EVE, don't remember the names tho, but really nicely music that fits well to the theme. http://www.eveonline.com/download/music/ Age of Conan had some nice scores. WoW had some nice scores. |
