So I finally gave in, I have been thinking about getting Darkfall ever sense the EU release but I finally gave in today and signed up for the NA servers. I tried to do research about which server to pick, EU or NA. Most of the people in forums say that NA is barren compared to EU. Well I can tell you this it definitely wasnt barren when I was on NA the first 30 min of playtime. I made my character, an Ork. I was pretty happy about his appearance and was ready to play the game, I had no idea how to play or what I was supposed to do. Although I did know the controls because its like a basic FPS. Within the first 20 seconds I started to hear screams "Help meee!!!!" over and over, I was like wtf and looking around saw nothing. Then I saw around 8 people turn around on mounts and begin to chase me. At first I though oh great gankers, didnt expect it this soon. After I died I wandered around the town I respawned at, I jumped over the wall to try and avoid the entrance where the gankers were. I was walking around in what felt like a alien world to me. This is the first time in a long time I have actually felt like I was playing the game in depth and adventuring into a mysterious land. I finally came to a group of monsters and began to fight them, when I lunched at a goblin he moved out of the way. I was thinking what the hell intelligent monsters??? I got my ass whipped. So basically the only skill I have become good at in the game is Resting. Well thats my first 30 min, gotta go to bed now hope you guys enjoy my lame story. :) |

This is not lame at all. It in fact is a very honest and fair opinion about your 30 minutes in Darkfall. I do not play Darkfall, but I hope this game will be enjoyable for you. I have to say though I find being ganked is the first thing that happend as you spawn into the world rather hilarious. |

I do not intend to bash the game in any way, but to be honest the ganking story is a familiar one to me, Ive heard this from several people who did try the game. (I have never tried myself since I disliked pvp servers in wow, and judging by the stories this game takes the grieving & ganking one step further, not my cup of tea) |

not only that but a bunch of nubs can quite easily turtle at the entrance and kill the reds. i assume other starter cities have as nice walls as the one im based in. makes a great defense point. then they get all that loot, presuming the pks have any. besides, there is race alliance chat for a reason, combine that with the in game co-ords and voila! Playing polished, lag free, feature complete games is carebear. Whining about a game you hate but still play is hardcore man! |

Ah ok, good to hear that. It didn't make much sense otherwise. |

I can tell you for a fact, immediately after I spawned within 10~20 seconds I got ganked by atleast 8 people. |

After 30 min, I said to myself "I wasted my fucking money", then after forcing myself to play it around a month, I quit. It's not OMG AWESOME, but it's not FAILFFAILFAIL either. It's good to who it appeals to. -TORMENT GAMING COMMUNITY- |

That rarely happens because of the towers, but I guess if they all hit you really fast and ran, maybe they could escape. |
