A new, short clip of the DC Universe Online demo being shown at this year's San Diego Comic Con is now available at TheFlickCast.com. In the clip you'll see a winged player hooking up with the likes of Wonderwoman, Batman and Superman to take on the always awesome Bizzaro.

I'm sure this is the first of many clips to come out of Comic Con this year.

Check out the clip here!

i don't even know if it was good footage since all I could see from that aweful video was the ass of the player avatar. Seriously, if a web-rag is going to post a video, at least show the whole screen that is being filmed and not just the bottom 2/3. The guy that filmed that  = FAIL!

Meh, looks like yet another console game.  In other words, this game has more in common with the latest pew pew deatmatch boom bam kiddie Xbox game than with UO, EQ, or DAoC.  *sigh*  Let's hope Marvel's venture into MMORPGs is better.

The more I see of CO the less I like, the more I see of DC the less I like.... And both of them spent most of their time focusing on console players (Ironicly CO will release on the PC before the console despite being a console centric game)

At the rate I am going to break my MMO adiction, There is almost nothing on the horizon that looks worth the $14.95 a month.

Definitely will not be as good as Champions Online. This doesn't even look like it comes from a comic book, the customization will be nowhere near as good as Champions and the worst part is that you will not even be able to play the hero! You are only Superman's and Doomday's puppet. In Champions you are the hero and you can customize your character anyway you want and play the way you want.

The one and only thing CO has going for it is it's looks... And IMHO it doesn't even look all that good.

When it goes open beta I strongly suggest everyone who is thinking about buying it to beta. For most people I think it will save you from buying the game. (Granted you could spend a LOT of time just making heroes)

Well atleats I can play as a hero or a villian in DCU unlike CO.  Thats enough to take me over to play DCU.

You should actually read more about Champions before you even make that statement. There been plenty of videos and interviews stating that Cryptic will be looking into letting people play as a villain. Either from dark champions or nemesis. SOE hasd all the big names but Cryptic has the better team and talent. I'm not even a major Cryptic fan (still working on that) and I could tell the difference between the 2 companies. Many will try DC Universe because of the name but clearly Champions will be the much better game. The Agency even looks a 100% times better than DCU.

DC really looks more awefull with every new movie they show :p
CO will be a semi success. Looks good , seems the gameplay looks ok. Just to bad they gonna insert monthly fee + micro fee :s ( what is something I surely will not touch, its on or the other not both )

With the success of Free Realms you can almost bank on every MMO that SOE makes to use the same type of business model. Subscription+microtransactions is the future for most mmos.

What surprises me is how whenever CO and DC are compared that people tend to ignore specific features that CO has. Like being able to fully customize your characters not only visually, but also which abilities you start with (level 1) and get as you progress. E.g. you can select any 3 starting abilities + special passive ability from ~68 starting abilities (the list which you can find from early june) and even customize the special passive. You can select which stat will be your primary. E.g. you can choose which stat improves the damage of your abilities instead of it being based on the abilities themselves.

You seriously based whether you like DCU more than CO on this tiny vid? Come on, this was barely anything.

I think a better comparison would be to compare the Alpha of DCUO with the Alpha of CO since DCUO is not even in beta stage yet.

Spoken lke a true fanboy.  Nice to see that you can easily ignore that SOE is making it and it will probably loaded with RMT.  Making rash judgements of a game based on a few clips is beyond ridiculous.  You might wait until you can actually test the gameplay before making such rash statements.

CO is also loaded with RMT. What's the difference now?
