In the last day or two Turbine has banned roughly 250 players from elite guilds across many servers. Whether this is an attempt to force players into their Free-To-Play model or for some nefarious reason the timing couldn't be worse. On top of the ~ 250 banned players the result was mass cancellations by other players that were guild mates or friends or even just even fed up with the mess that is now DDO. Today I uninstalled every piece of Turbine software on my machine. I would not touch this game now with a 10 foot pool. |

Any clue what the bannings were for? 250 different reasons vs 1 mass gold selling to F2P newbies (for example only) would shed some light on a WTF situation. |

F2P isnt live for about 2 more weeks so no gold selling to F2p Newbies, not that these folks are the gold sell type. I am waiting for more details, the community on Turbines forums is in an uproar itself I havn't seen so much forum moderation in 3 years. I lost my 3 playing buddies , when I found out, that is when I uninstalled and cancelled everything. |

Sounds kinda like the guild who used a GM tool in WoW again to me, why would Turbine remove the PAYING players from the accounts for no reason 'oh heres a good idea - LETS MAKE LESS MONEY', yea it's unlikely to happen.. Bring on the WARRRRGGHH! |

2 posts il take you about as seriously as the guy who said darkfall would have 300k subs |

You could simply check out the ddo forums over on ddo.com and see whatever threads that are not deleted/moderated yet. But that is to much mouse clicking you should take a break. |

You mean like this thread? http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=192615&page=2 Where Tarrant posted: "Anyone who was banned knows exactly why they received their disciplinary action. The exploit in question was done intentionally, so you don't need to worry about having done something accidentally and receiving a ban for it." Im glad your kind of players are quitting the game, makes it better for the rest of us! If WoW = The Beatles |

According to you, intentionally exploiting a game makes you an "elite" player. In that case, hopefully all of the "elite" players are now gone and the "mediocre" ones can continue to enjoy the game. |

Haha I will keep bumping this so more people can have a laugh at your stupidity! :)

That is a very despicable exploit, banning seems more than fair. |

I gotta say I'm curious. None of my ex-guildies who still play have been banned, and none of the threads indicate specifically what the exploit was. The last thread closed included a threat that if Turbine closed the thread the poster would detail the exploit on 3d party sites. |

Well I guess the guy did it then. If you go to post #10 and click on that facebook link and then read down aways you'll see it. Basically it was an XP exploit and frankly they SHOULD ban anyone found using it. Elite players my hienie! Bunch of power leveling hacks if you ask me. |

Thanks, got it. Seems a little stupid. Had I known about it when I played, I don't think I'd have used it, as I'd usually level to cap in about a week and a half anyways. |

I'm positive about what I play. If it ends & I get negative, I move on. This is how we not troll. |

Is Nik only posting as a plea for pitty!?! The people banned were CHEATING. They were EXPLOITING something in the game and were PURPOSELY doing so to gain something which wasn't supposed to be available. Turbine did the right thing by perma-banning EVERYONE who was doing this. Without going into detail, and this is "heresay", the cheaters were using a third party program to control the game client which allowed them in a VERY specific manner to gain EXCESSIVE amounts of EXP. Alledgedly these cheaters were able to level a character to 16 in a day, or less, from what's being claimed. Turbine's action is most deffintely warranted. They absolutely had to take the most extreme measure due to route these cheaters were employing to exploit what could be percieved as a minor flaw. On the contrary, I think this shows there's a VERY heavy demand for an END GAME ONLY type of playstyle. A type of playstyle where the player is focusing specifically on capped out characters. It might be a wise choice for Turbine to find a means to faciliate this desire of game play by adding a function to instantly hit 16 while allowing content to be played reqardless of the level but maintain a worthwhile risk and reward. To everyone I knew who was banned, sorry to hear you''ve lost your main characters and probably won't be back. I suspect many of you had already given up on Turbine and DDO or you wouldn't have been doing this to begin with. Best wishes! moral of the story: don't cheat! |

How do you know 10 for each will come? The last three years seem to no exist on planet Sarr. You know the years where almost no one was joining. |

Seems what some were claiming was that all they did was run the shroud and sometimes you would end up on Korthos and HAVE to take a free 1000XP to get off, when in reality they were using a different exploit that took you to the same place. One was a bug that no one seems to be banned for while the other was a cheat. |

Eh maybe you missed the part where they are going to re-release DDO with a free to play option and making the game more accesible and solo-friendly... ;)

You know, yesterday was a stress test on DDO:U beta : ). They were testing queues at first. Someone on forums wrote he was 1800 person in the queue. Then the game started, all got in almost at once, and there was near to NO LAG. The queue worked fine, I've dropped my 185 position and then got in on 388 position. Source to back it up: forums.ddo.com/showthread.php And the most fun part is that 1/4 to 1/3 of all players were players of level 1. Checked on "WHO" list. My Polish guild is growing with new players each day.

I missed nothing, maybe you missed the fact that going F2P does not mean they will replace anyone leaving with 10 new members. Especially 10 that spoend enough money. Sorry but solo-friendly DDO is a bad idea. |

If this release works as intended they will need to handle huge server loads. 1800 really is not that many for a good game. |

Sure, but DDO is instanced. They have different servers for different instances. So it means some may get overload. When you have 7 Marketplace instances and lag is just glitchy, not game-breaking, that's not bad, don't you think? And there was all-marketplace big event with Succubi, if you caught them, you got buff. Catch all of them in random places (not possible for one person), and you get major buff for whole Market. So it was performance heavy for sure. And those stress tests are for specific areas. Once it was for "Crime Wave" quests in Marketplace, and now it's to test high-end content. You can jump into new h/l quests and raid even today, as it got extended from yesterday.
