Hello all, iive start playing back this game 4-5 days ago, i havent played alot but i still got to level 20. I remember playing this game 2 years and a half ago and it took me way longer to hit level 20. I was wondering, did they upgraded leveling speed? How long does it take now to hit 80 approximatively. Anyone could tell me how long approx it take for each batch of 10 levels and where i should head to level up in these levels?

(Just for you to copy and paste :p )

LvL 20-30:

Lvl 30-40:

Lvl 40-50:

Lvl 50-60:

Lvl 60-70:

Lvl 70-80:

If anyone know the fastest way to level up in the game feel free to explain it, i dont care if its not fun, ive always wanted a character maxed out in this game to try end game and such.

Thank you.

Check out eq2.wikia.com for tons of information on where to go, what quests you can do, etc.

There are many different paths you can take to level 80. You can level several toons without hitting the same content twice.

One thing to keep in mind is your AA points.

AA points are earned by completing quests, killing named bosses, discovering new areas etc... and are spent on improving skills or gaining new ones. If you fly through to 80 as fast as you can, you may find yourself short of AA and having to go back and complete grey content to catch up. AA is fast becoming (probably already is) more important than level for character effectivness.

Very soon (probably the next large update, maybe even sooner) we are getting an combat xp>aa xp convertion slider. With this you will be able to set how much of the xp you get from completing tasks or killing creatures goes towqards leveling and how much goes towards AA.

As a previous poster stated, go to eq2.wikia.com  they have some great guides to the game there (have a look at the 'solo timelines' and 'heroic timelines' for an idea of where you can go at a given level.

Hope you have fun in EQ2 :)

I think leveling speed is pretty subjective depending on your play style.  A casual player just playing the game for the first time won't come close to the numbers listed above.

However if you are a power gamer and focused on nothing but leveling and you know where to go to level fastest hitting those numbers might be possible.

One person in my guild who is a power gamer made and alt and with burning xp potions and being his 3rd 80 at least (giving him an xp boost) it still took him like 2-3 weeks to hit 80 playing probably 8+ hours a day.  He also was over 150AA.  But he also had help along the way from higher lvl people for most instances including various lvl 70 raid instances.

OK, Would you mind PLS posting where you got that information about the AA slider?  I liked the Game, but the AA, really turned me off.  I like pvp, but Having to do those mind numbin Quests.  No thanx.  SO PLEASE post a link to where this info is.  It this slider thing for After u hit lvl 80(it was like that when i last played) or does the AA slider come into effect after you reach lvl 10 or so?

Thanx for Any info you can spare  :)

I don't seem to get AA points which means I probably don't have the expansion it is included in. Question: When I get that expansion, will I have to start from zero AA and work up or will it have my accomplishments up to that point recorded and assign me AA points based on what I've done so far?

i am not active, but i can tell u from one of my guild mates exp.

if your lvl 30(or whateer lvl u are) and you just installed all the expansions.  then you will start earning AA at that point.  if your on a pvp server you will be severly handicapped.  cause most "gankers" will have thier AA maxxed out for thier lvl(it's 1.5 aa lvls for 1 lvl of exp IE a lvl 10 char can have 15 points of AA.  a lvl 30 char can have 45 pts of AA etc etc)

hope that helps

The slider was first announced by the dev team at the recent Fan Faire and is being discussed in many posts on the official forums.

It is scheduled to be included in the next Game Update (currently due in September).

You will be able to use the slider from level 10 onwards.

You wil be able to set just how much of your reward from killing/questing is being sent to leveling XP and how much is sent to AA xp. (Even setting it to be 100% AA).

Also with this update is an auto-mentoring system. You will be able to visit an NPCin one of the cities and have your effective level dropped down, temporarily, so that you can experience lower level content you may have missed. You will be able to drop down to any level, in 5 level increments (i.e 10, 15, 20, 25).

Also, the rate at which you earn AA has been increased lately, significantly at cap.

LvL 20-30: 1 day (24 hours) Butcherblock

Lvl 30-40: 1 day (24 hours) Feerrott or Steamfont

Lvl 40-50: 2 days Revamped Everfrost or Lavastorm

Lvl 50-60: 3 days DoF and Lesser Faydark

Lvl 60-70: 3 days KoS and Loping Plains

Lvl 70-80: 4 days RoK

If you are inexperienced with the zones and where to go, breaks, and general "smell the roses" type gameplay, double that. It takes 2 weeks for a veteran to level from 1-80 non-stop, so a non-veteran that has played mmo's before should take about a month.  It is impossible to guess how long it would take a person that has never played an mmo before as some people are just plain stupid.
