In time you will reach full enlightenment and join us in Darkfall, but until then, happy killing.

FFA PvP is not for everyone. I like knowing who my enemies are... in Darkfall (or any game like it) you don't have that.
I'm not going anywhere near that type of game. I'll stick to my Faction vs Faction Games.

Besides, what read on Darkfall I wouldn't like it just because controls sound awful and skill system sounds worst.

Unfortunaly i was really loving this game until i read about the forced PVP not big on PVP frankly i dont understand how just ruining someone else gameplay is fun. If it was fair pvp like i had a chance i would accept it but getting ganked by a buch of high lvl guys who i stand no chance again ruins a game for me so i went from loving this game to it being a pass for me

Apparently pvp is changed in 1.5 so no ganking.  Perhaps someone else can give the specifics on it but I'm pretty sure that's the deal.

Yes it basically gimps the hell out of the Rifts system and kills force PVP, it's why I cancelled my Pre Order. Carebears win again.

ROFL, I was just about done with this forum and this game because of the forced PvP and now I see a message like this.  ARG....

Hee hee, me too. While i like some pvp im basically a pve guy. I dont see why the "online tough guys" are whining about Aion being carebear as they have DF and MO which us carebears will not touch so again, i dont see the point....wait yes i do, its called trolling :)

It has to be true, i have internet links.

This weekend I was minding my own business, doing quests, when BAM! Ganked by a group of Asmodians. Those dirty bastards! So, i ran back to the same area to finish the quests I was doing.... and you guessed it, BAM! ganked again, no real surprise there. The third time I went back a group of Elyos managed to show up and put them(those Asmodian bastards) down. At this point I was able to finally finish my quests.

So about now you're thinking here comes the carebear complaining/crying. Nope.

I don't mind getting ganked here and there. Sure it can be a lil' bit frustrating, but it adds a bit of excitment and danger to an otherwise pretty ez and safe gameing experience. Aion, like every other pve mmo I can think of, is pretty ez when it comes to killing AI mobs. I can see how the Abyss will be BOTH frustrating AND fun....

The game does your standard mmo fair SO well, that I can live with pvpve. Maybe i'll learn something. Do something a lil' bit out of my comfort zone.......

This pve carebear is going for it!

Nice write up OP, and you are correct.  The game is not very forgiving to carebears if they don't want to get "BLAM'ed".  But they can get pay-back by linking the location in chat and typing in "shout" go get'em boys !!!

lol I am not a fan of PVP ether, but I have my own unique way of dealing with the problem. Before Aion even was in beta I joined a group of hard core players, basically an online community oganization of very dedicated hard core players. We level togeather, and usually 3-6 people who are much higher level are in the area where we level waiting to gank some asmodians.

Im probably the only casual player in the legion but I am damn happy I was able to get in thanks to some connections in Guild wars :D  Although I mostly end up leveling and teaming up with everyones alts, at least its safe. I have not been ganked at all yet, everytime some one tries we have 3-6 people on hand ready to gank them before they can finish us off.

I hate open world PK and this is my solution to it lol.

Its like having a bodyguard all the time on vent ready to kill the other side for fun :D

I was against the forced pvp initially upon hearing about it, but I was looking forward to the Abyss pvp like crazy...I spent alot to time in pvp on AO (where you can choose to pvp or not depending on the area you go into, it's not forced), i'm just not a fan of gankfest crap where the bored no life 14 yr olds at level cap get off killing lvl 3 toons.  The restrictions in patch 1.5 make me look forward to Aion in all it has to offer.  Sadly I'm not so sure my wife will be as forgiving regarding the gank "pvp" where the rift raiders will go gank everyone 5 levels lower then themselves (she's pretty much pure pve/crafting/gathering in playstyle) but since she'll be rolling a Chanter to go with my Templar (or SM,  I can't decide) it shouldn't be too bad on her.

-A low post count doesn't always mean a dummy account for flaming or fanboi posting, sometimes it just means you don't shoot your mouth off randomly to see the numbers under your name increase........or you only really post after the 2nd case of beer

Yeah my lady also had speculations but she choose not to play Aion sadly Also because she does not like open world PK and is even less accepting than me of it.   She will remain in guild wars & FFXI until GW2 comes out.  :(

one in the bush is better than one in the hand.

I must suxor at pvp, that and chanters suxor at pvp. I was attacked by a gladiator. I was unable to get off a single attack. I was stunned twice in once battle..... Later I was attacked by an assasin. Same story, stunned before I could do just about anything.

My pvp skillz are lacking. I did learn that I will no way play a chanter when we go live. Even when I tried to ambush a gladiator, I failed miserably. Atleast I got one shot off though.

I will play a cleric and one of the classes that can stun..... or am I jus too lame for this game?

This is what makes the game immersive and fun for me. It feels more "real" to me to have to watch your back as you level but having it faction vrs faction at least lets you know who your enemies are.

Also, PVP likes this breeds a healthy community. Smart players join guilds that protect their own and level together instead of just grouping for looted gear and raids.
