Hi Everyone,

I have heard, however never played D&D online before and I will give it a try once it releases. My question is about the PvP aspect. Enlighten me please, is this game purely PvE or is there any PvP to it? And what I mean with PvP is not some random PK system. I am more interested in battlefields or something similar. Thanks in advance. Have a nice day.

Cheers!

There is no real PvP.  There are cheesy little tavern brawls, but no one really does those.  My understanding was they were planning on adding a consentual "challenge match" this mod, but I don't know if they did ...

PvP has never been the focus of the game.  The PvP scoreboard has been broken since PvP came out on the North American servers, and no one has really cared.

I thought there were some battlegrounds aswell where you can do Deatmatches and Capture the flag? But there is no balancing in PvP and no rewards that I know off, just for fun and to try out builds.

There is, but they are barely used.  I love pvp and would jump in one, but have never seen one advertised in the LFG tab.  PVP balance is completely borked in this game and thinking of the rules, it would be difficult to rectify this.

I love DDO (and have previously loved PVP), but do not play this game if you want serious pvp.

You could probably get a few friends together and use the arenas, but most people do not.

Hi

They have a new challenge system to try and make it easier for PvP players to get matches started.  There are Deathmatch and Capture the Flag arenas as well as the tavern brawls (form a group and talk to the bouncers outside of the Tavern Brawl areas to try them).  I don't' do PvP so I'm not sure how helpful the new system is in getting PvP groups started.

The pvp is not at all good. You just jump around in a designated part of a tavern. The deathmatch and capture the flag games are always empty and you will wait for an entire day in queue (I've done it just to see :P).  Although the pvp aspects of the game are less than desired, I have to say that the mechanics of DDO are some of the best I've seen. The pve is great and I highly reccomend DDO for the casual gamer. If you are a hardcore gamer then you will be like me at the end with all the loot and nothing else to do but help others out. All in all, one of my favorite games and worth a try.

I'm positive about what I play. If it ends & I get negative, I move on. This is how we not troll.

Did you try new Challenge PvP system? You don't need to be in tavern for those 2 new PvP arenas, can challenge anyone or any party. Those arenas looked and played great to me and some random guys who played with me. We said, if UI for it was made better, it would be popular.

Those arenas have traps in them.

The main lacking feature with PvP in DDO is there's absolutely no Risk Vs Reward.

Tavern Brawls is one form where you just walk into a run within a Tavern and start attacking someone.  It's not what I would call PvP.

Capture The Flag and Deathmatches can be a LOT of fun as they are well suited for team play. If you want PvP in DDO you should experiance these features.  It will probably be hard to get together large enough groups as those ingame who "think" they PvP only auto-attack in the taverns and appear too scared of being schooled.
