The only thing it can be used for is to see when a game has sold more copies and how much the population has changed in a given game, not across games. To prove my point good look at my xfire profile, over the past 2-3 days I have added 56hrs to darkfall. How? Leaving my comp on 24/7. Thus, if I were to get 10 people to do the same thing the data on xfire would be manpiulated. Alright?
Except that no one except a DF Fanbot would even look at the hours that way "leave the pc on to manipulate XFire" and we have all seen what happened here on MMORPG.com with Tasos and other fanbots trying to manipulate the rate system so yeah thats something I would expect the DFO community to do.

Whats even more funny is that the Xfire numbers keep going down. So if they are trying to manipulate the numbers they are loosing people faster then they can create false Xfire accounts to pad the game statistics. |

Because of a huge revolt against the evil xfire empire! doubtful. Even some of the overly zealous fans say its still a bit empty in there. |

Did it ever occur to you that maybe DF isn't losing players but xFire is losing DF players? First, let me say I never liked xFire and I think it's a poor way to judge a game's subscription numbers. For the plain, simple fact that not everyone uses it. Second... what? How does that make any sense? You're saying some DF players began using xFire at first, and then they, for whatever reason, stopped? That's possible in a few cases, but when you start seeing dropping numbers en masse, it's not a very logical argument. If anything, Darkfall fans would want high xFire numbers, so they can promote the game through it saying, "Look! We have ___ number of subs while ___ game has lost ___ percent of theirs! Darkfall is the best (niche) game evar!"

Makes alot of sense if you actually are an Xfire user (like me). For some reason Xfire is causing issues with some people when playing DF. The Xfire forums have a few posts about lag spikes and whatnot. How many are effected who knows. I dont have any problems running it but some do. Though I do agree that Xfire isnt the best way to track sub numbers. P.S. For some reason I cant get my Xfire Sig to work on this site. I C&P the URL like it says to but it dosent show up when I post. Any other Xfire users having same problem? |

xFire and DFO don't play nice together. Many people I know who play have had to uninstall it. Make sense now? |

It's not unlikely, considering the situation of the EU servers. Let's give it a month or two, then we'll know if it's DFO or Xfire. |

Makes no sense. Why is the situation worsening? If people have to uninstall xfire, they would have to do that long ago. Not now, not progressively, unless you say that over time the problem gets worse, and people previously able to use xfire were one by one forced to uninstall it. There are a thousand ways to explain why there are less and less reported hours on DF from xfire, I can help you create more excuses: (1) xfire reporting is wrong (2) xfire has an argument with Tasos and fiddle with the numbers (3) xfire is buggy, but only buggy with DF (4) some codes in DF suppressed xfire, for the sake of protecting the identity of DF players. and so on. Yes you can create 1000000 possibly reasons, but please, try to select and present the one that can somehow fool a few of us. xfire losing DF players? LoL, like there were a lot of DF players to start with so you can try to lose them slowly. With a handful active, you cannot afford to lose one without significant lost in term of statistics. 1 player lost out of 5 is a 20% lost, and that is only 1 player. Now, does this make sense? Explaining to those who still wonder why: The base is small, any drop will be very noticeable in terms of proportion. Take WoW, even if a whole guild unsubs, you can hardly see any statistical change, 0.001%. |

I got through the last 10 before I realized that your MO is to pick arguments with people for the sake of arguing with them. Not really interested in playing that game with you. I'm sure you can find someone else to take the bait. I'm not wasting my time. You're 47 years old dude, grow up and learn how to communicate like an adult. |

Ok standard tactics of a losing DFer. Personal attacks. You can find nothing wrong in what I write, so you go personal. No problem. Whatever my age (lol looking at the profile, and that is your 'fact"), I am mature enough to see that you are trying to find an exit to bail out. Sure go go, RIP. |

I like how DF fans claim most people turn off xfire, for performance reasons. When someone brings up the drop in time played using it. Even that some don't run xfire 24/7. Yet when they try to make a point about how long someone has played. Because someone said something "bad" about the game. They feel it safe to assume that said person and/or people run xfire 24/7. There is nowhere in my post that I accused the OP of turning Xfire off. My point was that with 1hour logged with Darkfall, he clearly hasn't given the game a chance. I like it how people that hate DF claim anybody posting with an ounce of praise for Darkfall are trying to cover up some grand conspiracy. |
