Does Mines include the original game?   If so, to get the free month did he have to open a brand new account?

Well, if this is how LOTRO makes their business, i will not even attempt to try the game, due to fear that they may just sign me up for a subscription, lol, but yeah, do tell us a bit more, did you get into a conversation with any staff from LOTRO?

Sorry to take the piss mate, but if you could do us the favor of giving us a concise and rational account of what exactly you are steamed about, we might have a more sympathetic ear.  We may even have some useful advice.

I find that most of the time the problem is that the customer doesn't know how to read... Or just doesn't care to read, and assumes a lot... I could be wrong.

To get the free month you either have to have a new account or upgrade a trial account. You won't get the free month if you are adding MoM to an existing (active or expired) account.

perhaps it was because I did the digital download and didn't by the boxed edition.

I guess he will never play a MMO then because all online games need a credit card info before you can even play. To do the tryout they need a credit card info, that doesnt mean they will be charging you unless it goes past that trial time. So all you have to do is give them the info let it accept then go back into it and cancel it and you have your free trial. :)

Incorrect. You get the free month with the boxed version.

With that deal they had going recently (over now) Technically, Turbine paid you 5$ to play for the first month.

I just got the Mines of Moria a few weeks ago and I don't recall ever seeing a free month. I had an existing account though. I had the option for the 3 month special where it was $9 dollars a month which is pretty reasonable. I wouldn't leave a game over $9. You are only hurting yourself since not much better is out there.

The OP is upset about being charged the monthly sub amount after the first free month? He must be new to MMOs. Because this is the way EVERY SINGLE subscription based MMO works.
