This also shows some really nice game play footage. :Spoiler Jedi fighting looks freaking awsome: http://www.swtor.com/media/trailers/video-documentary-3?sourceid=ea4169 |

I agree voice acting is huge ,it adds a lot to a game. However watching that video, the graphics look awful, the textures are so cheap ,it looks like they hurried them out the door. The looks of the game is very amateurish, but i guess they have the voice acting going for it :D Those light sabers look like so cheap,i could make a better looking design/graphic with no effort at all.Is this Bioware making this game?if so they are going to give themselves a bad name for quality in the looks of the game.I suppose they might have some other nice content and detail such as the voice acting, but the basic feel of a game comes from the looks and it looks not even bad but awful. |

The Graphics are no worse then anything else out there. In my opnion MMO's do not need top tier Graphics to be huge or fun some games that have top tier Graphics like Aoc and many others nice to look at but game it self lacks story gameplay and other features. Your allowed to your opnion but the saber fighting looks a whole lot better then it does in SWG. I am a old school gamer I still have more fun with my old consoles then I do this gen. Although there are some great titles out for em, graphics do not mean anything to me if the gameplay is not there. I agree though that SW:Tor does lack the graphic power house I hoped it would be, But I still think this game will be a great MMO to play. |

Looks and sounds pretty good to me. I love the attention to detail. Watched it couple of times, nice to see the UI as well, not sure it has been show before. As a negative, I think the bounty hunter sounds too much like Duke Nukem with his one liners, but can see how it would appeal to some players.

As I said in the other thread about this. Voice overs sound really good. The "art-style" and textures look like complete shit. I saw absolutely no MMO in any of that trailer. Tried: LotR, CoH, AoC, WAR, Jumpgate Classic |

I love the idea of a fully voiced MMO. I've been wanting this for years. Star Wars: The Old Republic is the only game in development right now that has me really excited. Of course I'm keeping my eye on a few other projects like DC Universe Online, Star Trek Online, and Global Agenda. Even though they all sound cool, but no other game is boasting the sort of things that Star Wars: The Old Republic is. I think this game will change the way we look at interactive entertainment as we know it. Their doing things that no other online game, offiline game, TV show, movie, or book has ever dare to do before. Mark my words, when Star Wars: The Old Republic comes out. It will be the game to beat, but first it will be the game to copy. Anyone that can't see that, doesn't see that history is happening right in front of their face. When we get back from where we are going, we will return to where we were. I know people there! |

Heh, it's very expensive to do VO's this large scale, I hope other companies start doing VO's to the extent that BioWare is doing them, but I have a feeling most will not. Most will not because there are not many companies that can fund such projects. I do see companies like Blizzard and maybe NCSoft start doing them down the road depending on the success of TOR. |

It was alpha footage, There were no shadows, bumpmapping or anything. It's gonna change a lot more in the next coming year.

i really have no huge interest in the game but i really am curious on how they will bring the mm to their orpg.
and i mean that in the best of ways, what they showed was an awsome 1-2 player bit, i want to see what the game is doing with 100 people at a time in the area ect. |

Is it me or does one of them sound exactly like the immitation of the preview man by Pablo Francisco. |

In a game thats purely at internal alpha stage, with all the post graphics effects missing, I think it's looking quite attractive in my opinion. That was not a video of "here is our completed game", that was a video showcasing the voice acting in the game. Take a look at, for example, some of the AoC alpha videos. Broken visuals and no post processing effects at all, just basic textures (and granted, they are quite nice textures) but still, the game turned out 20 times more attractive than it's alpha videos, so why is it different for SWTOR and assumed these are the final visual look of the game? Either way, I'm still not put off. The only thing i'm still a little bothered about is the proportions. Saber hilts still seem a little large, or maybe its just the fact that the hands are massive in comparison to the heads? Shoulders seem much too broad, especially on the smuggler they've showcased. |

I actually hope it is almost nothing like MMOs we are used to playing. And so far, it does not seem to be. It does not matter to me whether the game does not hold my interest for a year, as long as it it enjoyable experience for few months. |

I'm not a huge fan of voiceovers. I can read much faster than the voiceover, probably at least twice as fast, so although the voiceovers can ad something, usually I begin to get slightly frustrated because it's so slow and prefer to just read the text.
However, if it's going to work like this, then I won't mind. Voiceover can't be skipped, so EVERYONE in the party has to listen to it, then EVERyONE in the party has to make a choice. That might be fun. Otherwise, I hate waiting on other people to read quest dialog.

Full Voice Over is a "nice to have" for me. So long as the cost isn't at the expense of the "must haves" |

"It's time to kick ass and chew bubblegum, and I'm all outa gum ..." I was waiting for that Duke Nukem line when hearing that Bounty Hunter's voice. I truly hate that excessive dark, oily, movie trailer sound of it and I hope classes can opt between different voices at char creation. Though the rest of the vid + voices are quite awesome.

No, I have not played Mass Effect. Are you saying that this system is fun, or not so fun? |

I'll say it's a blast!
Its like you're watching a movie, but instead of watching the movie, you're controlling how the plays out. Other then, Mass Effect and to some extent the other two KotOR games, there are no other game that plays out like this and makes the story and gameplay stand out very much.
Edit: Also, I read in an interview that there will be no waiting for someone to read text so you won't have to wait for them to answer their portion of the dialog. What I mean is, there is a timer so if they don't answer in time, then I presume you get to answer in their place. |

It does sound like fun, and I will be trying TOR when it releases. I just hope they balance things to make grouping worth while. |

Every day this game looks more and more like kotor with a multiplayer component... And I am perfectly fine with that. |

Below is a pretty good example of Mass Effect dialogue. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MnJOXZLMT0&feature=related |
