My hauler is shield tanked with some resistance amplifiers and a medium shield booster.  Once locked, he took my shields out in one cycle.  I miraculously timed my shield boost cycle, and recharged up to full shields with only taking about 20% armor DMG --- 3 low sec jumps to go.

He proceeded to follow me to every gate for the last 3 jumps before empire, and each time he took out about 25% armor.  But my timing with my shield booster proved to me too much for him, and I just barely made it into Empire with about 25% armor left. 

My palms were sweaty, my heart was racing as this was one of the most thrilling hauls I have ever made.  I sold off all the loot for about 70M.  MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

Perhaps the best part was me razzing Chalypso's Wrath at the last gate by saying in local "Nice try douchebag", then warping.  No other game offers an experience like this.

2. You did not "get away" through any skill of your own. As soon as I locked you, you were warp scramed. Luckey for you, you had a warp core stab on which allowed you to warp anyways.

Of course he got away. He got away because he was smart and wasn't flying a hauler in 0.0 without stabs which would be IDIOTIC. I love it when pirates imply that stabs are somehow cheating.. I guess they would also like it if people sat still so their guns would track more easily...

3. I was in a Vagabond (heavy assault cruiser).

4. Smack talking is just one way to get a target on your back. 1st person to eve mail me the killmail for a shiny ship of this guys (isk value has to be over 50million isk ship and mods) + contract me his corpse gets 25 million isk from me. You can reach me ingame: Calypso's wrath. 

5. After you jumped in, I had a choice: Keep going for a hauler that COULD have been full of loot, or go for the shiny Command ship that was more than happy to Agro me on the gate. (he died, and i got his stuff)

In my mind any pirate worth his salt would have found his "smack" funny instead of insulting.  Seriously, you go out of your way to kill someone and steal their stuff and you get hurt feelings when he send you a little "kiss my ass" after he gets away? Don't be such a little girl.

In eve you know damned well when you pop a hauler that you might be taking out a week's worth of "work" in the game.  Pirates types get off on causing as much suffering and ISK loss as they can.. believe me they cry like babies when the shoe is on the other foot.

To the OP:  I enjoy these types of risks like you do.  I'd advise you to look into T3 cruisers- with the interdiction nullifier and a good fit you can cause all kinds of hilarious havoc flying through bubble camps in 0.0.  Just be advised that these ships aren't invincible and you can lose a couple weeks skills if you get popped in one.

OP was in a free for all zone, pirates are in lowsec at 0.1 to 0.4 areas and suicide ganking on Concord controlled areas, those are pirates, OP went into 0.0 knowing he can be shoot at without warnings or causes (yet we do have a RP cause to kill anyone in Providence who isnt blue, on all other regions we operate NRDS).

The OP is a hauler that doesn't have his standings sorted out, he is in a zone he doesn't know shit about, and he hauls without an scout, sorry to say this  it was not because of skills he got out of there alive... he was just lucky as shit. If he doesn't want to loose a "week worth of  ingame work " he should pay attention to what i mentioned.

Residents of 0.0 know well about risk=profit, and i know it from both ends of the coin, as the dude killing the industrial, and as the dude flying the industrial, as i have a profitable industrial alt corp, and i have to haul in deep 0.0 with nothing but balls a hoarder and stabs, i have lost 1 shipment in 3 years, it was a half a billion cargo lost,  all i said in local was good fight, i learned my lesson, and i had never lost one ever since.

You suggest the poor OP to go find a T3 cruiser... lol thats putting a $$$$$$$$$ all over his ship... he will be hunt at like if there was no tomorrow to get the mail. OP please listen to this guy and buy a t3 cruiser. He clearly knows what hes talking about.

To the original post: this is why I love EVE as well.  I have played every other MMO I could get my hands on, and they got old before the first month was up.  I tryed EVE several years ago, and hated it, but after AOC's epic fail I went back to try it again, and after the learning curve I was like oh my god, this is awesome!  It really is a "niche" game, not for everyone, but one thing is for sure, it IS for me!  Unlike you though, I am a faction war pilot through and through, and haven't run a mission in months.  But if your ever in the Auga area hit me up, ill either shoot at ya or fleet with ya, depending on your alliance!

This thread is the reason why I love Eve. Eve drama, best drama. It also makes me want to go pirate in Providence again.

And yes, pirates are jerks. We like it that way (clearly what I do in game reflects the kind of person I am out of game :rollseyes: ). And damn some of you get super serious when someone smacks. I could careless to be honest.

You are confused.  I like to trash talk, and in-game, EVE pirates are lowlife scum.  So I treat them like that.  I also dabble in FW from time to time, and have a completely different in-game opinion of WT's as oppsed to pirates.

I get off on risk, there is no denying this.  And EVE would be different without pirates.

First lets set things clear, the issue here is not the OP smacking in local, if you play eve you will find legions of smackers, therefore you must be used to it. I for one couldn't care when less some one goes at it in local, i just ignore them. The issue is that the OP is claiming he got saved because of the use of his 1337 skills. He smacks a player, and then comes here and calls him a scum, the lowest of the low, etc etc.

The only reason for me to be posting here is to set clear 2 things:

1.- We are not pirates, we are a RP alliance and we prefer the term  "terrorists" or "freedom fighters" (depending on the side of the conflict you are in), we shoot everyone who supports slavery and, therefore, we shoot anyone who supports CVA in Providence.

You put a nice "Friendly to CVA PAX AM SEV" in your bio?? then you are a target. The OP was a valid target, he was in Providence, and as he had mentioned here plenty of times, he is friendly to CVA. The OP also, is into fleet warfare, so, hes either caldari or amarr, or he would not be allowed to rat in CVA space, he should had known best before going into Providence. (altho i must grant him that it was his CEO who has his standings screwed over)

There are plenty of posts on Intergalactic Summit (EVE IC forums) where we warn all pilots about doing business with  or supporting CVA.

2.-The OP lacks any of the skills he is boasting about, he is just plain lucky, as i said before, he hauls without an scout, and he doesn't listen to intel channels, (or don't have access to them), he goes into 0.0 without a knowledge of the region hostiles, and politics. I find it really incredible that he can be so naive as to not being worried in 0.0 when he sees an "orange" pilot, YOU ARE IN A FFA ZONE you should be worried by anyone who is not blue!.
