Rangers can be a really expensive class by buying traps, powder, and transform items. I noticed early on that money was a problem going towards 20. Should I use traps and stuff as infrequently as I can or are rangers not going to feel so costly later on? How do rangers benefit much from these items? Is it all for the sake of not dieing? is it really worth it?
I really like playing the ranger but being broke and not a high damage dealing class kinda bothers me |

Didn't have any problem getting my ranger leveled with over 100k Kinah. I did not buy traps, but used powder occasionally. The trick is to Kite the mobs. Don't just stand there and shoot, instead use the speed debuff arrow and run backwards while shooting.
Arrow skills do not require mana. I can go all day without being hit by a single mob. So really they have zero downtime unless you run out of arrows or need to empty your inventory. My sorcerer on the other hand uses a heck of a lot more powder and down time... but kills faster. Money is also a non-issue if you learn how to use the broker for more profit. Checking which ingredients have few pages and might sell for a profit etc. At level 30 I had over 2M Kinah was able to buy my level 30 upgraded wings and am working on more professions now. (that's the real money sink) |
