I am looking at the classes and attracted by the chanter... but after my zealot in WAR I don't think I can stand another healbot. Is it feasible to to play a priest as a buffing.controlling combat class with heals, rather than as a healbot class with a little combat thrown in? Or should I stick to one of the other archetypes? |

From what I know, healers can actually put out a pretty decent ammount of damage. |

The healers in this game are closer to paladins than squishy kind of cloth-wearing healers, and yeah they can deal some good damage. |

They actually can fight pretty good. Clercs with staff and mace/shield. Yeah I will admit I got my ass handed to by preists. -In memory of Laura "Taera" Genender. Passed away on Aug/13/08- |

The person that frap'ed this video is a Cleric (main healer in the game). It's kinda hard to see what he is doing because he is zoomed way out, but you get the general idea. (6 man group / party) Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries... |

My chanter held pretty damn well in combat in the last beta event. Hell, at around level 11 I was at pretty damn comparable damage compared to what my gladiator at level 11 did.

Don't even think twice. Roll it. If I have a tank and healer in party, I would pick a chanter over a gladiator/sin/ranger. They are just too damn helpfull in a party lol. Their mere presence (with toggle on) in a party increases the party dmg by at like 20%. Just roll a chanter. I personally don't enjoy caster type so I opted for a ranger, maybe an alt someday :-) |

Im interested in playing a DPS/Healing Hybrid in Aion. Out of the Cleric and Chanter, which ones does more DPS? |

Probably the Chanter. The Chanter is more a hybrid melee/healer/buffer class, while the Cleric is more a traditional healing class with a side of ranged dps. The difference is really whether you want a melee/healer or a ranged/healer. As of my measley lvl 15 I can assure you my Cleric whoops butt. :D |

I definitley enjoyed my chanter in beta and i'm sure they are usefull in end game if not decent at pvp BUT ithe main reason i like it is because of the bad ass looking staff moves. =) |

The main issue I see so far with a cleric or chanter is focus fire. The opposing teams clerics / chanters should always, always be your number one target. The team that kills the opposing teams healers first will win. |

Chanter is the way to go for healing/DPS I got mine to lvl 20 last beta and can say with the % damage buffs i can hold my ground great and not take for ever to kill the mobs. The combs are great as well. Only thing i didn't like is i didn't get Smite 2 , which is what i use to pull but hey Smite 1 is just fine if i get the weapon skillz and combs to kill mobs super fast. Played Aoc/DDO/FFXI/WAR / LoTRo / CO / Aion Waiting for FFXIV to be the game it should. so sad =( |

I have a 20 chanter in "beta" and the dps is ok. The buffs are ok. The healing is poor. So far I have an instant cast hot, and a low hp heal that takes 4sec to cast if I have my first stigma on. The first stigma increases heal cast time by 100% and attack dam by 15% so..... |

Obviously you aren't going to heal well with a DPS stigma like that on... stupid complaint. Without a stigma the heal is actually really powerful. |
