It actually looks more like water and goes in front of, on, and behind the character. That picture makes it look pretty shitty. The problem with the rain isn't how it looks, it's that it doesn't seem to rain for everyone even if they're standing next to one another - which is pretty retarded. It's not entirely client-side, though because it will rain for a bunch of people at the same time... so some sort of lag issue must happen where another player doesn't see the rain. Either way, it's bugged. But it's not as ugly as that picture makes it look.
It looks like that as in picture are you playing another game maybe? |

It depends on the game as to which way it is handled and AV just chose to go with the easier choice it seems. Server side weather has obvious drawbacks (its more work for the server) but it also pays off in some cases. Theres nothing wrong with AV using client side weather, but it means that there is alot more comunication needed between the server and client to make certain the effect works the way intended. I hope AV will get the weather fixxed and make it capable of actually having a strategic effect on pvp. |

This isn’t surprising. Their complete fail on the weather system is a continued testament, since their beta, to less than mediocre effort, at best.
Aventurines’ complete spin about this so-called expansion is nothing more than hot-fixes to elements that have been broke or poorly implemented in this game. And those that continue to subscribe to this experiment are just the marks that the scammers at Aventurine were hoping to get their claws into for continued funding of an ever-failing endeavor. |

Such a terrible company, AV. As someone said before, this proves that they don't test their shit, and if they do, they don't care enough to fix it before throwing it at the community Current: DDO |

You are absolutely correct. Darkfall is not the game for me and I will keep playing my cool games and I'll let you keep contributing to the "Let's keep Tasos in beer" charity known as Aventurine. |

How about... oh I don't know... like every single video game ever made with the exception of E.T. for the Atari 2600?

Actually, they had weather for the beginning of beta ( I didn't see it towards the last month of the beta ) and they decided not to release with it. |

Lol. Also, I knew it was an Evasia thread just from the title. You're the only person I know of on MMORPG.com who does this:(.

Yeah the weather system was fixed but it's still kind of bugged, (Most people see the weather, but a small few don't). They also fixed the rain so instead of it looking like you're being pelted with a machine gun, it looks like real rain. It's definately a lot better than it was earlier. |

The last patch fixed most of the problems with the system. Supposedly people are still out of sync with the server, but most people get the same weather affects in the same area.

Did I say it was. Absolutely not. Stop trolling and read what I said in context of the post. Its not the player's fault that the server only sends the command for rain once and the client doesn't recieve it. Next time you troll do better. K thanks bye.

Message recieved, next time I get killed because of things out of my control, I will subdue my need to 'troll' a thread about the weather in Darkfall doing exactly what you just said it does. |

Wow, seems like the DFO weather system was designed by someone who probably spells a lot like you do, lol. "It is in your nature to do one thing correctly; Before me, you rightfully tremble. But, fear is not what you owe me. You owe me awe." ~Francis Dolarhyde |

What's stopping those who complain about the pic showed here to show the marvelous droplets of angelic dew appearing on their screen, then? People will comment on what's posted. And the pic posted here shows a very amateurish rainfall. If it's so much better on your magic system, post it. It's not that hard. |
