I would rather have them delay this and make sure it can handle the load rather than do it "the hard way"

Another delay wouldnt bother me so much as to keep spamming f5 only to find out that its going to take hours and not even being able to buy a copy!

But the amount of info sent with a ping is.... like nothing.  I'm not surprised you got through.  Now to only find a way to get a ping to buy the game for you....

I'll never understand these companies that can't get their act together in terms of online billing and network capacity.  Their web host said they could handle it?  Lol, ok.  Ever heard of a dry run or a test scenario? 

I'm sure they'll get it figured out eventually, but it doesn't have to be as painful as they're making it.  Do some tests, spend some money on a reliable host with on-call engineers, and you won't have these problems.  Networking isn't rocket science.

Its not their job to make beta a wonderful experiance for you, for that you gotta wait for the real game

Ya but its a freaking preorder  with the chance to get into beta coming with that. Remember your paying for the game that will be released in september, thats what the preorder money is going towards, they just need beta testers and figured paying costumers are a great place to start

Pre-orders are usually not charged until the game actually ships. However in this case you will be charged NOW, so this payment is for beta and pre-order.

No one is goign to stop refreshing when you only have a limited ammount of spots for beta block 1. To stop people from overloading the servers they need to just get rid of beta block for now, and just allow anyone in.

I'm sure there are thousands more MO customers doing the same thing. A few DF fanboys would make no difference.

They probably should have tested this, I'm sure they saw the mess that DF was. I still think they should have let everybody enter their CC info a couple weeks in advance and then just had them click an agreement saying they agree to be charged in 2 weeks, and then just charge 10,000 people (or however many they're letting in) at random. That way, there'd be no rush to be first, since the whole thing would be random anyway.... basically using the same logic they use to let people sign up for a beta test.
