Good day all, I'm about 40 years old and I've been playing MMORPGs since 2000, EQ1, Star Wars Galaxies, Anarchy Online, EQ2, EVE Online, World of Warcraft. I enjoyed all of them. But since I'm a little old, immature players annoy me more easily (I blame my age). So far, the game I found with the most mature players was Eve-Online. Howerver, I also found out that games with no PVP attract more the "helpfull" community and therefore, contains less "elite jerks" players. My question is: any game out there with as less "kidz lawlz n00b omgz gay bro bbqsauce" chat as possible, and a helpfull community of players ? Thank you, WoW: Redriding/80warlock/Cho'Gall |

I'd recommend Perfect World if you're into PvP. They seem to have a farily mature community. Plus it's F2P. http://pwi.perfectworld.com/
For PvE I'd recommend FFXI, although that's a hard game to get started in...

Originally posted by runningshoe In my experince LOTRO and EQ2 have the best community ive found with LOTRO being the best. Im playing Warhammer now and have not seen a lot of kiddie chat there either. All games will have a certain amount of it but WOW seems to attract most of them in general chat. LOTOR if your heavy on PVE, Warhammer for PVP at least thats my opinion. |

I am playing Lord of the Rings Online just for this reason. It has the mature communtiy I have ever seen for a mmorpg. I started playing about 2 weeks ago and have not yet heard the words "Noob", "Pwned/Owned" and words alike. I find most of the players to be laid back and enjoying the game at their own pace. Also from the people in my kinship I would say they are all 30+ and most are married.

the one thing i hate about the WoW community is that most players are over 21 and they still act like idiots. But LOTRO has the best mature community out of the major p2p mmo's |

I'd like to echo the sentiments expressed above. Lotro really does have a mature community. I've been playing for over 15 months and my ignore list consists of just 2 people! What i also tend to find is that maturity doesn't necessarily equate to age. My kin has a range of ages in it, and you couldn't guess which were teenagers by their conduct. It really is refreshing.
That was probably the major reason i left WoW - too many immature griefers. |
