I won a free digital copy and 30 days of AoC, what server should I try that has a good community?

I like to be a decent soloer, that is kind of solo friendly but not too too easy.

Any class recommendations?

I would recommend you try one of the PvE servers to start with.  Set of Wiccana (unofficial RP-PvE) are you best choices.  The PvP servers tend to be a bit brutal on new players with no guild support (especially Tyranny).

For class... all are resonable to play and it depends what you are looking for.

I may be wrong but I don't think you can solo well on PvP servers due to the ganking. I think most people group up or join guilds. I'm with DanitaKursor, join a PvE server and see how the game is first. If you want to later then make one on a PvP server. You can still PvP on a PvE server.

As for class, what do you enjoy playing  most? Healer? Rogue? Caster? Tank? All those can solo well. The class I had the hardest time soloing with is the barbarian, that class keeps you on your toes and fighting more than one mob you really have to know your abilities. The second hardest for me was Bear Shaman under level 20.

Most classes are soloable up to level 30. I played Herald of Xotli, Priest of Mitra and Guardian all with no problems, HoX can solo mobs five levels higher without too much trouble.

Guardian is good solo class. Also finding group is easy - if you need one. However fights are really slow and you need to keep your plate armour up-to-date all time. Can handle at least 3 mobs that are higher than you and killing normal bosses is easy. I also heard that bear shaman is good solo class above level 50 - but never played it.

If you want solo - head to PvE servers - stay away from PvP servers.

Hardest solo classes are maybe barbarian and assasin. Both have problems when group of mobs are attacking and need skillful player to manage those situations.

You get plenty of guild support  on the PvP servers as long as you're in a decent guild.

Tyranny = Most populated and competitive PvP server. It's where the big dogs are and also the loudest kids.

Cimmeria-RP PvP = Slightly less populated then Tyranny. Obviously less competitive PvP. "Cleaner" community in terms of smack talk and language.
