Anyone heard anything about whether we will be able to download the NA client before release? Waiting hours for a download to finish while others are playing happily ingame sucks.

How would everybody else be playing while you have to wait for the download if EVERYBODY has to download it when the server is released?

The best I could come up with is this pre-release file from Fileplanet.

If I were you, I'd at least get that, then you will only have to patch and not dl the entire game.

We already know those of us with the EU client can play NA on day 1 if we purchase a new key, so I'm sure instructions will be posted on any .cfg changes we need to make for that to work.

Actually know ones if you can use the same client as EU. All we know so far is that we need to buy a new account for NA. That could also mean a new download of the client.

While the same company supplying the servers for EU is the same for NA their farms are in different locations and may want you to download a different client. Or the new Publisher who ever that may be may want it that way. Until Monday know ones what is going on.

I would wait to see. Why download a client that you might not be able to use.

Otiro - Of course we can use the EU client for NA.   It's just a matter of changing the IP in the CFG.   If a person wants to get a head start on dl, I suggested what I'd do.     If you don't want to do that, don't.

How do you know? Do you have some inside info? Really, you have as much of an idea as I have. Now I do agree it probably will be the same client. How ever I want the facts not assumptions.

You need to debate this too?   It was a good suggestion for a person that is concerned about waiting for a long download on the day they want to play, and even this suggestion needs to be scruitinized.    Why do "you" need to know?    All your posts tell us how bad this game is.    Are you planning to buy it?

Can you name one MMO game ever where the english speaking client was different?     The only difference is where the CFG file tells the client which server to connect to, and that server needs to have an authenticated code for your user info. for you to play

looking at it from another angle...If you've already decided you are going to spend the money on this game, what could it hurt to download the EU client? If it's just some changes to some config files, or localization patches (if any are even needed), then you're up and running pretty quick. If you actually have to download a whole different client, then what did you really lose?
