China Cat borders on being a troll because he is trying to coax other users into a flame. It is passive but still the coaxing is there.

That is unproductive and to an outsider who has an interest in the game it can look bad. Instead of passively trying to start an unproductive flame, China Cat should write what he enjoys in game. What does he like about it? Does housing add benefit? What would you like to see in the future of Darkfall? This will help the community even with certain people expressing dislike to the game.

I agree with you, that more posts from me about the game itself, my personal experiences and insight would be constructive.   Having played since beta, and participated in all aspects of the game, I have a lot to share, and would like to.   However, the tone of this forum, and how pretty much each thread is trolled by those who clearly enjoy berating the game, has prevented me from doing so; at least until now.    Like any one new in town, I wanted to get the lay of the land, saw a lot of members bullying others around, and confronted it.   If you or others experience that as trying to coax flames, that's your right; but that is the furtherst thing from my mind.   I was trying to illuminate what I thought was the obvious, but what was being accepted carte blanche.

I've been exploring since the new patch, and tomorrow is a key day, as the weather system and other things will be patched in, in addition to deeper patch notes on what was done being provided.   Over the weekend I should of had enough time logged since the updates to provide some feedback with substance.     I will say this; the patch as far as PvE definately changed things for the better.   Mid to high level mobs have become more reasonable; not to say they aren't difficult, but the ability to kill them from safety and ways to have diminished.    Drops have improved.   The random treasure chests are cool; my friend found one with 10k of gold and magic items.    While this is a PvP game, the PvE is critical.   No PvP game has ever been void of needing PvE content.       It's an important way to gear up, have fun, and find hot spots for conflict.

Cheers -CC

What would you like to share?
Start a thread about it.  I'm sick of hearing this excuse.
"I have something I'd like to talk about but this forum is full of trolls."  Yet the thread doesn't even get started.

Someone was doing this about a month ago.  I took the time to go through the first 2 pages of threads on this forum and point out that the fans aren't any better in thier posting then the "haters".

There were a couple of threads on the official forums that were saying quite the opposite of what you're saying here.
There was no magority concensus on the official forums that PvE was much improved.  Medium to high level mobs weren't as hard to kill but thier loot tables still sucked for the effort.  Extremely hard mobs weren't adjusted much apparently and still dropped the same things as before.

So,
Outside of telling people that the game is awesome and great, that the "haters" are wrong and never played, what would you discuss about this game exactly that you're unable to?
I see others posting videos of seiges.  When the game first started the large scale conflicts, wich appear to be drying up, were discussed about a lot.  There have been threads on alliance polotics posted here, and synapsis of territory change and control.

What I haven't seen?
A thread discussing the game, made by you.

If it helps.
I put 3 months into the game.  In the end I had something like 400 hours.
It was the worst, most shallow MMO I've tried to date.  Not worthy of it's start up cost or monthly fee, and worse then most FPS games that don't charge you to play every month.
I still enjoy talking about the game though.  So please, start a thread, or stop trolling people.

The OP quit.  His clan quit.  Him and his clan aren't the only ones that have.
And no.  Half the server didn't just stop playing active accounts because they found out the NA server was coming.  That's just a poor excuse.

Or, how about players learning spells and skills from each other not being in?

Or, how about the racial specialty spells not being in?

Or, how about the political map not being in?

Or, how about spell scrolls not being in?

Or, the "custom communications" that works inside and outside the game not being in?

Or, the in-game trading boards not being in?  (And no... CHAT does not equal trade boards).

Or, the trading outside of the game not being in?

Or... heh you are probably starting to get the idea by now.

I'll wait for the links.

Yet the game is still pretty solid.

New expansion includes some really nifty features, and world PvP is back in a brilliant way, with village control scuffles, chest hunting, people being able to solo mobs etc.

Why do you people keep going "BUT IT DOESNT INCLUDE POKEMONS!!!"? Enjoy what you have, if you don't like it, don't play it. Don't keep whining about arguments from 5 months ago.

WoW nerds beware, I come equipped with lazers and anti-QQ missiles. If you mess with me, I will $%£@ you.

It is more constructive to focus your energy on discrediting what has actualy been posted rather then then trying to discredit the poster.  It should not matter if one has played the game or not, they can have an opinion as valid as any person who has played, thanks to the media we have available today.

You could wrongfully be saying folk warning others against paying to play the game are vindictive, but at the same time is it fair to edge on fellow gamers to plop down more then $50.00 for a game they most likely will be very disappointed in (in its current state) ?  Making posts about how wonderful the game is and either hiding or not seeing the many faults in the basic design, creates angry critics who feel lied to and scammed out of their money.   We all have one thing in common, we like playing mmorpgs ... give us the good and the bad up front and you know what, you would probably get more interested in playing and less bashing from ex players.

Well, all I can tell you is that I quit and do not plan on returning.

As far as the forums are concerned, I know, for a fact, some threads have been merged, or outright closed. A couple of them were mine.

Believe what you want...

Earthgirl - Focusing energy on what's been posted becomes a difficult task if a forum is filled with far more disinformation, than information, and that's what this forum is all about'; disinformation and distortion.   Typically it wouldn't bother me, or even matter much if a forum had the occasional "I hate this game" type of person drop in from time to time and spew nonsense; but we have a half dozen members who's sole and full time purpose on MMORPG is to do that here, on the Darkfall forum.    If that doesn't bother you, awesome, but you also have no further interest in the game either, so it  makes sense it wouldn't particularly bother you.     Imagine if this happened in a forum of a game you actually loved.      Some may experience it as being "disruptive".

Take this thread as a perfect example.  The OP first ever post on MMORPG was to start this thread.   He never answered any questions and has produced no evidence at all, that his post is legitimate.  It would be easy to do, but he hasn't because he probably can't; yet so many of you are quick to jump on this thread and respond as if it is real.     All that does is illuminate the character of this forum already established, and the letters spell TROLL.

There are forum members who play DFO, or used to play DFO, and good discussions can be had, but the full time agitators make it very difficult to create any thing constructive here.        I shouldn't even have to explain this.    The endless junk posts really paint the picture here quite clearly.
