It was a great class in EQ1 but it is not in this game.....why? |
too many classes in there as it is without adding more, plus conjys and necros have pets |
the devs have said no any and everytime this has been asked. |

I doubt it. There are enough classes as it is. |

Well...take the amount of classes there currently are and then half them. Every class has an exact "opposite" class so to speak which is basically the same damn class with different spell graphics and names. It's pretty retarded if you ask me. They should merge the classes together...except mage / necro...and then add more unique classes. One of my main gripes is about how similar classes are to each other of the opposing side. |

They told me I'd never survive, but survive was my middle name. |
SOE would be wise to add classes to this game, at some point. Playing: Age of Conan, Aion: Tower of Eternity.

Never... and this is from a game developer. Thafireball has no clue, and didn't even name the sub-class correctly. While bards, brawlers and enchanters are kinda similar, there is a HUGE difference between Berserkers and Guardians or Wizards and Warlocks. Then you have the completely different sub-classes like necros and CONJURORS, or Paladins and Shadowknights. You take away someone's favorite sub-class after 80-90 levels and see what happens to their subscription... Adding another sub-class would be hugely problematic at the minimum. Alternate achievements, class loyalties, sub-class balance and PvP balance would be the most trouble. Not to mention itemization, epics and a whole slew of variables we don't even know about. Can a mystic spend points to make their pet much stronger so it doesn't die to a breeze and fight melee using debuffs and buffing himself and his pet? Basically making a beastlord, in theory at least? |

Yes, as a matter of fact, the Shamans have entire AA branches devoted to their pets. They'll never be nearly as powerful as a Summoner's pet, but they are quite important. Conjurors and Necromancers do obviously, because they are ultimately completely reliant on their pets.
