Official Darkfall boards, and I'm posting it here so you can see, the trolls aren't just an illusion, it's not "he's calling out everyone that disagrees with him!" It's a real issue, and they've been plauging this game since 2006, for what reason I can't understand even a little. You think an indie game doing more than most MMOs even attempt would get SUPPORT, not these freaks.

 

Also, once again, I'm not a board moderator, thanks come again ;) this is why I have absolutely no respect for certain people among you, because you never listen, no matter how many times I have to tell you.

Seems like it would be much more beneficial to point out the trolls where they live rather than show evidence of them to their neighbors, so to speak.

At the very least it would make sense to post it both places.  Otherwise, it just smacks of trolling the mmorpg.com forums. 

 

Kinda hard to convince us here of all the trolling here when your "evidence" comes from the Official boards.  We all agree the Official boards are really bad.  You don't have to convince us of that.

He's not asking a question.  He's just trying to spread the perception that people just troll the official forums.  Kind of like the impression that some of the fanatics, and Tasos himself, have tried to spread that the everyone that posts criticism on the official forums doesn't even play the game. 

They want people to believe that those who actually play the game are happy with it and have nothing negetive to say.

I don't know what signus is getting at about not having posted anything.  He posts on the official boards.

Why would anyone need to put such effort into spreading perception that the game is great?  If everything is fine, and people are playing it would speak for itself.

Oh no, the people who play this game are incredibly critical about it. I talk to them about it in IRC a lot. Someone will be ranting and raving about it, and someone will ask "well, are you still paying for it?" "Yeah, it's a good game with a lot of potential but x/y psses me off!" Then someone else will jump in, and a conversation will get started suggesting alternatives to the current system, they get put in the suggestion forum.

 

Trolls on the other hand, send messages like I included in my first post, and leave it at that. No constructive criticism, no examples of what make them made, just random hatred and mindless blather. This helps no one, and the people that do this, by and large, have never played the game. They make accounts purely to troll, then make new accounts until they get IP banned. 

 

The people on THESE forums, for the most part, seem indifferent. However, there are a dozen or two dozen different people who I think dedicate their time to trolling every single Darkfall thread. I haven't seen more than a few legitimate posts in this entire thread, much less the others. Whenever someone tries to discuss Darkfall, the troll cavalry rolls in. Hence I am asking, WHY? 

That still doesn't address the reason why you think this thread was more appropriate here rather than on the forums where the PM originated.

Again, until you can speak to the reason why you thought this thread would be more beneficial here than posting it on the forums where the PM originated from... the vast majority are just going to think you are trying to troll this forum.

I'm asking for outside opinion, I think that'd be fairly obvious, and since there are a great many trolls here, might as well ask them at the source.

I doubt anything I did or said caused you not to play the game. If you can't handle one person forwarding some message they got from a troll, then you  never were really interested in the game anyway.

Some people do have legitimate concerns over various aspects of Darkfall and its business practices. I will agree, can't see the point to send random flame tells to people regarding their choice of game.  I get them here from time to time and wonder what I ever did to upset someone so much over discussions about games.
