Care to give a Cliff Notes version? What does it mean and what can we in the U.S. expect?

good, when we become united we can move onto other things such as space exploration and going to war with aliens. Then when we colonize other planets and move on to a EVE like society

In some dumb Swedish essay I was writing about how the world is becoming more and more totalitarian. Didn't take me 43 minutes to say that... Don't have the time to sit down and watch 43 minutes of conspiracy theories either, which is sad because I hate what EU is turning into and would like to see some of the arguments/facts posed.

Invariably, right after the term "mainstream media" is used,  you are going to hear a bunch of conspiracy theory.

Two points: Christians in this country say the Bible says a one-world government is inevitable because it's in Revealations.

They claim that the Bible says everyone will receive the "Mark of the Beast" and won't be able to buy or sell without it. They say this is the one-world currency of the EU.

Supposing this is true, that means it's inevitable because who can fight God's Revealations? So I say just sit back and ride the wave.

On the good side of the other point, if Obama cannot get Americans free health care because its too costly or too controversial, maybe the EU can since all of them have it already.

So I say OK to world domination!

You lot must be sniffing the magic markers again, only people the US has to look out for is people from the US, fringe elements within US spout so much poorly educated crap, and most of it based on purely paranoid delusions , the US set itself up as the world policeman,partly to justify its policies after the cold war, hard to maintain a large miilitary with no one to fight, which allot of nations see as a bit hypacrictical, hence all the aggro, so which came first the chicken(foriegn policy) or the Egg(everyone just plain hates the US)===(the delusional view, the fear spread by certain groups in the US, NOT MY VIEW)

  Worked with the UN for 3 years as a specialist and I can safely say without any fear of being wrong the UN could not engage in any war at all, as its political correcttness and fragmented nature would lead it to try and hug everyone, and have a cup of tea and a bit of a chat. Maybe if someone was very bad, ie a mass genocidalal war lord , they may even go as far a say poster campaign and the sending of a stern letter......Please remember the EU contains the French and the Belgiums, come on, it would be like a war of the Teletubbies.

There are only 3 or4  nations in the Eu that can stand up and be counted to fight, of which 2 are now so apathetic and have mostly devolved their respected militaries to constripct based national service for 2 years, and that never works well.

European union democracy a sham?

Europe is NOT a federation,  they are a group of soverign states that are working together in political and economical ways to further each other.  Kinda like the rest of the world,  but in a closer aspect.

It can not be a shame democracy because the "United States" of Europe are a loose confederation in nature.  All seperate and soverign states working together of their own free will and able to do what they want rather than a centralized "Big Daddy" hub to tell them what to do.  Much like the democrats and  Cofederate States of America wanted 150 years ago in the war between the ideas of the federalist and the confederalist.

Guess the point im making is that a confederation can be National Socialist,  Republic,  Communism,  Feudal,  and Democracy all in one.  Just depending on what the Sovereign States that make it up want

Because your plainly confusing in your bid to believe in a conspircy what the EU actualy is, its a load of soveriegn countries working(and when i say working, its in the loose term) together, the key part here is the word SOVERIEGN, I would go on to explain the legal ramifications and the mechinisms behind that but would be a tad pointless in your case.....The Euro isnt even taken up by Britian, was only embraced so hard because countries with exchange rates lower than the British pound or even the dollar got an chance to increase their export margins, a purely econmical move.
