Title of thread says it all really, anyone know if they have added swimming by 1.5? Seems this is a pretty basic staple of any game but for some reason in Aion you just run around submerged at the bottom of whatever lake or stream you are in until you die. |

There is really no reason for swimming. Water in Aion is just another way to define a boundary line rather than be surrounded by mountains all the time. It's a Jeep thing. . .

You can fly, walk and run. But you can't swim. As the other guy say, water is a elegant way that aion use to limit the playable areas. |

It bothers me because it feels/looks wrong. The attention to detail is amazing in most parts of the game. It is strange they would leave something as simple as a swimming animation out :-/ |

No, stick with flying, deep waters are boundaries, pretty much like some MMOs, better thah the invisible walls of doom and the mountain walls of perfect obstruction that challenge even those that could get up to Everest / K2 and other mountains summits. There are those who do not know how to swim, it seems people in both Elysea and Asmodae were too busy flying to care about swimming, and it makes sense. |

It's a matter of opinion, really. I prefer deep waters than invisible walls as what limits my exploration. Invisible walls break immersion as much or even more than drowning in deep waters. It would feel better if they added swimming animations though (or struggling to stay floating), even if you get a message "you don't know how to swim, get back!" while taking damage. |

So people think that no swimming is a way to enforce a boundary? Come on. There are water areas already that are not boundaries at all so you shouldn't be able to swim in those either? and limited flying is the reason we should be satisfied and not be so greedy to want to be able to swim? That's ridiculous. |

Water leads to nothing the entire game, why should they waste time adding in swimming animations to go nowhere? It's a Jeep thing. . .

You can swim with further expansions. For now you have to be content with flying :) |

when u fall into deep water, u lose health while running . We could lose that same health while swimming anyway. This way, they keep the objective of boundarys and correct a ugly feature, running in the deep water. |

I thought it was pretty funny when I drowned last week. I even tried flying out of the water, but you've got to be on dry land to expand your wings. Swimming and a breath bar are nessessary. there is an asmodian quest that sends you to a pirate ship, and if you fall in the water you cant swim, and then you dont see your breath and you drown before you know it.
It just seems sloppy not to have those things. Quotations Those Who make peaceful resolutions impossible, make violent resolutions inevitable. John F. I was dumb struck the first time i tried to swim in this game, its the most immersion breaking retarded thing about the game i just cant get over the fact you cant swim , and the flying is really limitied so dont give us this shite about you can fly why swim , thats such a fanboi thing to say. The game clearly needs to get swiming sorted out before it launces here. It is the one thing every single person i have spoken to about the game has said , why the hell do i sink to the botton of the sea, you dont even sink actually you just fall ! When i was out questing i seen some ship in like a watery place , it wassome transporter dock in the 10-20 area for asmodians i glided down into the water where i would have died if i didnt heal my ass every step of the way to get to the land, and then i had to run around to try find my way out because i couldnt just swim down the river and get out that way i had "wall climb" the border of the zone to get out. |

They may add it later if they add water zones, but who knows. Doesn't bother me at all, but I understand how it bothers some people. |
