my guild of 112 people just cancelled all their subs to this load of nonsense and I suggest anyone who's actually left do the same. I'll also be doing a charge back because I don't think this is worth anywhere near what was paid. (have fun paying the charge back fee for your contentless, untested, unfinished garbage Aventurine).

The "expansion pack" may have saved kept me around.. but unfortunately what they call an "expansion pack" I call a measly patch consisting of a new mount model, some sword models, and a few tweaks to already existing systems. Who gives a rats ass about owning a house and random chest spanws? Are these people for real...

This "exp pack" was a last ditch effort at saving the sinking ship that sunk already along time ago actually.

Actually the charge back works flawlessly with Aventurine for most CC banks.

See that is the disadvantage of them being added to the black-list for many CC banks.  Current customers only need to mention the name and the bank will approve the charge back.

A lot of CC banks allow charge backs for up to 1 year.

Some people have successfully gotten back not only the original purchase price of DarkFall, but 2-3 months worth of monthly charges as well.

Aventurine should have tried a bit harder to keep themselves in good standing with CC banks.  They will have an up-hill battle now.  That is also the reason that a lot of players got denied from their CC banks the first time they tried to buy DarkFall. 

They had to call up their CC bank and specifically tell them that it was a legitimate charge.  Then and only then would some of the CC banks allow the purchase to go through.

Now after multiple months of double-billing, billing canceled accounts, etc.  They have themselves black-listed by even more CC banks. 

All the charge backs that are being done is going to put a serious damper on Aventurine's bankroll.  Hopefully for them they'll be able to sell enough NA accounts to cover them.

I think you are the one here who doesn`t know WTF he is talking about. You can easily charge back with your Credit Card Company and later AV has to fight it out with them. So it is very much possible and i know some people who did it and had no problems at all with it.

Oh and i wish AV good luck fighting back their money....lol. Even more so as AV was reported to CC companies as a fraud&scam operation multiple times. I am pretty sure AV does not even bother haha.

Most companies follow a simple rule "The customer is always right"...Maybe Tasos could learn something from that!

In this case this is probably true, but not in reality. The public is generally greedy and try to suck companies out of things they are not entitled to, or stuff they should have known through common sense.

Me too welp and he is damn right..i saw easily half a dozen threads stating obvious flaws and they got deleted within mere seconds. The moderation there is a joke and heavily biased. There are pro-DF threads ala "AV slaps me in the face and i like it" there from fanbots that reek of flamebait and blind fanboyism and those get bumped and necroed by the OPs over weeks...i am wondering why those are not locked or deleted hmmm.

However, I whole-heartedly support what Adventurine attempts to do. They are a small, independant game developer trying to make an MMO outside of the big studio, big bucks system.

So yeah, go ahead and cancel your subs -- and give more power to the SOEs and the EAs and the Blizzards who already dominate the market. But I don't want to see you back here bitching about the lack of independant, creative, innovative games in the market place.   Because if you don't support your independant gaming companies (and manage your expectations accordingly in a mature way), then you'll get exactly what you pay for -- more vanilla, generic, uninspired gaming.

3. I know DF have lost alot of players including my brother and a few RL friends.

It is not the players responsibility to fund a companies investments.

The company whether they be an independent or a big studio is responsible to find investors and make sure they have secured enough funding to release their game in a state that they can be proud of.

I play MMOs to have fun.

I make investments to earn money.

I don't mix the two.  I'm betting that the majority of gamers don't either. 

If you really want to support indie developers then invest some money into their company.  That will do much more for supporting them than a measly monthly fee or the purchase of a game.  Seriously, if a person is so devoted to supporting indie developers then put your money where your mouth is.

I personally think they are very risky investment and chose to put my investments in much safer companies... but some like a bit more risk with their money, so they can go for it.

For me... I'll play games to have fun.  If I'm not having fun, I could care less if the game is a major studio game, or an indie game; I'm going to quit playing it and play something else.

If I think that I've been deceived into buying a product that didn't deliver what was promised/advertised... it's my right as a consumer to get a refund. 

Again, this all pretty basic stuff. 

If a company (indie or not) releases a product that their customers deem unfinished or not-up-to-par, they should expect their customers to be unhappy about it.  If that happens to cause said company to go bankrupt... they probably shouldn't have been in the business of making games in the first place.

Another two-dimensional imbecile who sees things as this or that. There aren't only two options you know. Themepark WoW clones or POS software like Darkfall. There are other more skilled developers releasing games that does not follow the WoW blueprint. EVE being one of them and Mortal Online looks to be the next.

So just because I refuse to support a POS game like Darkfall with the crappy AV behind it does not mean "I am not supporting independant, creative, innovative games". Look at my sig, that is a well coded MMO developed by a small indie company with limited budget and I support them fully.
