Actually, this had better be very old stuff. If CME hadn't set up that lore well in advance, incorporating it into a story bible, then I would be very afraid :)

On the other hand, this is supposed to be "canonical" and fit between seasons 8 and 9?

Which is exactly what I said he'd do in the other thread, he needed to keep down the rising dissent with another red herring so he produced a sketchy back story. No doubt he heard the story a while back and tried to find some others still working there that remembered it then posted it because they were having to ban people that were calling him out.

As for the rest, I could have answered those questions that he chose to answer. Seriously, we needed to wait over a month to find out that "No one likes the Goa'uld" and that Asgard ships aren't in at launch and the Archeologists role in PvP isn't set? I could have answered those questions just from watching the videos released and reading the forums in the past!

In all his reply was weak, doing nothing more than filing out a back story. Everything else is already known from vids and the SGW site. At best he typed the story from the memory of people still working there and what he remembered, at worst he just made it up himself.

 Update:  Currently many investors are working on removing Gary Whiting from any 'decision making position' relative to CME.   They do not trust him and want him out.  Until this is completed new investments to complete the game have been very difficult.  Stay tuned.   His power may be gone soon.  I'm sorry if this is posted in the wrong location....I'm an angry  investor...not a computer pro.   I'll keep you posted.  

How about some details on the ousting of Gary Whiting?.   Looks like his wife threw him out, so it's only fitting for the investors to do so as well.  

1. Have any documents been filed in court?
2. What is the timeframe for the Whiting ousting?
3. Seek litigation against Whiting, Jensen and others who have already fleed?
4. After ousting Whiting, will the investors pony up more funds to:
     a. Complete the game?
     b. Pay back payroll taxes?
     c. Pay vendors for outsorced work done on SGW?
     d. Pay back payroll?
     e. Pay back rent?
5. When in control, will you fire Tim Jensen?
6. Will you dismiss the fake companies?
7. Will you fire the unqualified sponge employees left hanging around?

 

What I find amusing is all the sheep singing CME's praises due to that most superficial of posts. If the investors were like the morons on that forum, no wonder Gary could fleece them so easily.

Hopefully Gary Whiting will be removed, if he cannot be removed then SGW and CME have offically collapsed.

Yes he did it, it took one month of bitching and a few bannings to get those screenies but he did do it. At this rate by Christmass we'll have 20 more screenies and the entire community banned, that's dpendent on how many he can salvage from abandoned HDs in the offices though.

However CME won't still be in existance by Christmass in my opinion, even if Whiting was removed what's left of the code is no longer salvagable in my opinion.

How do you know of the condition of the code?    Do you have honest information?  Or,  is everything you say always negative?  Have you seen the code?  Have senior programers told you this.  If senior programers have said this, I would love to talk with them.  Dan has made not such comment that I am aware since he has left....   Actually, I have only read the reverse from several programers.   Most of them lament the destruction of the game that had great potential.  Do you have a qoute regarding the bad code?

If you look carefully at the first four shots (I don't pay that much attention to screen shots so those are the "new ones"?), they all say "(c) 2008 Firesky LLC". So, either they forgot to update their disclaimer image overlay, Khestral used the wrong one,... or they are old shots. There's no proof of which.

1.   Of course.   ??...the check is not written to Gary.  Why would you be against helping Gary's poor wife get a divorce?  It sounds like it would be good for her.  You would be amazed at how STUPID that I can be.  My best work is when I'm STUPID.  Generally, I don't know anything more than being STUPID.  If only all the brilliant people in the world would share their brilliance--mostly, they sit on the side and throw stones at people.

If you make that check out to Gavick, Garvick, CME, MMOGULS, you might as well make it out to Gary.  He controls everything 100% and, investments have to flow through his pyramid of shell companies.  You cant just invest in Stargate Worlds, you have to invest in all the other poop they have going on there.

Throwing stones?       What I was trying to convey that he did his job at CME and spoke the game up to the public despite the condition it was in behind closed doors.

Yeah, they need a lot of it.  Any funds received might not go to actual future game development as they owe so much in back taxes, back payroll, vendors, rent, lawsuits & judgments, etc.   Just the investment to overcome the previous, plus try and get experienced developers to come back to Phoenix would be quite the financial layout.   Dont forget the costs involved in self-publishing.   Seems risky to me.  But you sound like your mind is made up, so good luck with your investment!

Yeah, the game looks beautiful when it's running on servers and not broken.   But games these days cant rely on looks alone.  In my opinion, from what I've experienced in the Alpha .....  wait I cant tell you about Alpha!    But anyone who was in the Alpha knows what fundamental flaws the design has or doesnt have, and they also knew what state the game was in quest/feature wise.

Oh, well...earlier I tried to explain that any new money would not be controlled by Whiting.  This is one of the reasons new funding is difficult. 

If the game is poorly programmed or bad, it would seem natural to be hard to correct regardless of the money available.  So, I'm very interested in any objecting, concrete opinion regarding the quality of the game.  If beta and alpha was extremely poor compared to others....not good.  Is it possible that they only allowed very limited exposure to the game at the time?  I've seen a lot of the game that has not been seen or used in videos or beta...but, I don't know what I am seeing.  Why did they not include these areas in beta.  Is this normal?   I think part of the reason beta was so limited was $. 

So, I'm not sure how to evaluate the quality of the game/programming.  Thanks for your help.

I'm curious what legal grounds can be used to oust Whiting. I presume that he probably structured the investments so that there's no "normal" process that could do this (e.g., shareholder vote).

Thus... it would have to be something like alleging fraud or a breach of the legal framework set up around the investments?

Unfortunately, I bet it would take a year or more to do that--just look at the current lawsuits. And in the end, you'd win control of a bankrupt company, and even if you could then sue Whiting for arrears, maybe he'd declare bankruptcy as well, and more time would pass before you could get anything from him?

But I'm wishing you luck nevertheless.
