Hi there, I'm Japanese! Now I am living at Canada and wanna play for AION but I have question... The end of this year, I will completely go back to Japan. If I go back to Japan, Can I still play AION (North America Server)? If they refuse other country...probably I cannot continue from Japan. So I'm thinking to play or not. If anybody know about it. Please tell me :( btw, Japan Server Opened beta from today! (but i cannot play coz im living canada right now |

As far as I am aware they have not stated if they are going to block ip's or not. |

I don't know if NA/EU servers will block Japanese IPs, I recommend you send a ticket to NA/EU NCSoft (PlayNC.com) support so you can receive a definite answer. |

NCSoft put up a post on their beta forums saying they had not made up their minds if they will block IP addresses or not yet. this was posted just 3-4 days ago.

If I were you I would keep an eye out for further information from them and when the time comes to purchase Aion I would call them first and ask if you haven't heard anything else about it by then. |

It is doubtful that they will block you from continuing to play as very few if any games make that sort of effort. The way most of the companies control access is by simply selling localized clients in that area and not selling say the NA client in Europe or Asia. The issues though of playing a MMO long distance are well known. The first being that frequently the latency is too high for any serious high end raiding type of gaming and frequently too high for PvP engagements. I have played and raided while travelling all over the world and some days it works fine and others it wasn't possible. The second major issue is that if your time zone is too far out of sync with the majority of the server population you tend to get a bit lonely. No guarantees on what they might decide but it is probably better to play and have some fun than to not play. |

That isn't quite right, close but not quite. They are actually very closed to anyone that is not in their immediate circle of friends and family (including other Japanese) and this is a cultural issue that isn't all that uncommon. Having visited Japan on numerous occaisions I have found most people to be friendly and willing to give you a chance but as with everyone this will vary depending upon the individual you are meeting and how you are as a person. To put this in persepective I lived in Paris for 4 years and I loved the French and Parisians (even the waiters were nice to me) so maybe I'm just clueless. |

Sorry again :( I have two questions. 1.Is Aion only able to play at US? How about Canada? It seems NorthAmerica so probably can play at Canada too...I think. Coz when I tried to buy pre-order at D2D(File Planet). They noticed me only United States...I hope Canada too! Or Anybody playing at Canada? 2.I found that GameSpot also Pre-Ordering.If I buy there, do they shipping to my house or just downloading? Sorry many questions. I tried to find but couldnt >.< Thank you

Hello, I would skip D2D. I've heard of some problems with them. Also, usually US game versions are really North America, including Canada. However, if D2D specifically limits sales to U.S. that would be a separate issue from the boxed version of the game and it is possible D2D does not sell to Canada. Gamestop would be for an order shipped to your address. Some pre-order sites for Aion are including beta code, the ability to DL the beta client and a head start on the retail launch. So you'll still be able to download the client early and play retail with out having to re-install from the disks. You'll still need to register the retail key from the box to your account when you get it, but if you have a head start offer as a bonus with your pre-order, they usually give a week to enter the retail code, in case it doesn't arrive right at launch. Amazon.com is also offering pre-orders with pre-order bonuses and the head start. |
