Please tell me how UCMs effected you? Did they prevent you from hunting? You could have joined the UCM fellowships, they are open to everyone.

It seems most people are just jealous of the UCMs gaining xp and loot. It's not like you couldn't UCM. The program was freely available to all.

I do agree the game would be better if everyone played legit. However, it's difficult to discourage people from macroing because of the way AC is designed; The static, fast spawns in dungeons give a lot of xp. Also the best items are from killing monsters.

Turbine could completely ban Decal, but Decal provides too many other benefits that make up for ACs inadequacies. For example, ACs in game map is crappy, so navigating is difficult. Decal provides better navigation plugins. There is no easy way to keep track of quests or find quests in AC. Decal provides plugins to suggest quests and track which quests you have done. Decals provides a tradebot plugin. So, we really have player run shops thanks to Decal.

I play MMP's to interact with living, breathing  players, for some reason playing with a scripted program is not quit the same thing.

I agree. I would rather have to compete against a living breathing player vs a decal scripted player for xp.

I never played AC,despite playing MMOS for almost 10 years now.

I rmember why after reading these posts....I had heard about the macroing that was going on and it turned me off.

Now is the time to play it then. because there is soo much room to hunt any where and every where. the only macroing I saw recently was the buff bots....and I am ok with those. not the leveling bots. but like I said I have not seen any at all.

The macros are not nearly the issue they once were, for a couple reasons. First is there are now many places for good xp, which means less crowding. Second is that leveling is significantly easier then it was way back in the day, so less people feel macroing is necessary to get to the top.

It really is a solid game and they continue to give brand new content every month, which is a nice perk that other games do not have. Basically if you managed to get caught up and try every piece of content in the game, you'd only have to wait until the next patch to try some more. But I still doubt more then a handfull of people in AC have actually completed all the content.

I don't think that I can do all the new stuff as a new character. there is just too much to do.
