Ships are fun. Sailing and fighting with them is fun. Housing is nice. Just because a feature is offered doesn't make it accessable or fun. I'm a little sceptical that it'll be just a matter of getting a deed and finding a spot. The added features are nice. The mechanics behind the game suck. |

The highlighted part actually says something. Out of the hundreds of houses, only SOME of them can be used to trade from. Many feature an open window means that not all of them do. I'm wondering if the houses will be already built, and the deed allows you to claim one. |

If all that comes out tomorrow there is no reason what so ever to switch to MO. None.

Originally posted by Fariic Interesting take on the scarcity of housing locations as compared to the potential concurrent player population. If a house is destroyed, does the owner lose the deed? If so, I can see houses being a hot commodity in small-scale pvp, but that also makes using them as stores much les viable, since they can potentially be destroyed and change hands several times/day. I really want to know more aobut how houses are going to play out... ~Ripper |

I'm guessing the houses are prebuilt. But I don't care, all this gets added to the game now before MO is even in beta and its just like a giant kick in the nuts for all trolls. I'm in fanboy mode again and I don't care OWND OWND OWND OWND

I am not getting excited until I actually try the patch out extensively, there is a ton here and to create that much content that quickly will most likely have some bugs and imbalance (in my view but I could be wrong) That said few things I would like to point out. 1. I am not at all surprised and amazed that this "toaster over" is not major. (toaster oven as in i really dont care if you call the content a patch or an expansion). 2. I dont like the idea of Title Quests. I am ok doing quests but I am not ok with it giving out loot that is much better than what you can get without questing. 3. I really hope that they DONT hold themselves accountable for something they wrote on an FAQ a year ago. I perfer things not be nearly a legal contract of content becuase its better to create content AFTER watching players in game reactions.
I am just glad we have a few less "NA will never happend and here is how I know.." posts does your game have rainbow sprinkles and magic ponies!? |

I for one think this is going to do wonders on the amount of PvP and bloodshed we will see on the server, especially towards its frequency. The other thing I'm very excited about is weather. To me, stalking someone in the snow, fog, or rain is a MMO dream come true for me. It's probably #1 on my list of features they mentioned in those notes. |

Originally posted by rhinok I'm with Ripper. On one hand IF, big, big, BIG, IF it is as good as it sounds (I really wouldn't hold my breath folks) than the game will FINALLY be CLOSE to what it SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN FEBUARY WHEN IT BLEEDING "LAUNCHED". As far as it being an "Expansion" if that is an "Expansion" then Warcraft is on about expansion number 10 or 12. And EVE is on about the same number. It is a BIG patch (In all honesty their claims of having released large patches before are BS they have realeased a few small and medium sized patches sure but not BIG ones) and if it works half as well as they are hyping it to be the game may be in a position to save itself. Of course there is also the distinct possibility that its a laggy buggy mess that dosen't work. We will soon see won't we? Dem hibbies! Dey be wrong! |

The villiage system sounds like an awesome idea, imagine building like a whole community of players around the houses and having gardens etc. Hell I havnt ever played DF but this villiage system sounds like something every game should have. |

While player housing may be limited, you can share houses with other players and you can sell your house and probably be able to loot the deed off of people.
Edit: Player houses have an upkeep cost as well

No reason to get all worked up over them calling it an expansion, a patch, an update, etc. As long as it's free what's the difference? |

If Darkfall survives the year, with these changes and hopefully more to come this game maybe a decent product. I look forward to reading the reviews of the free expansion.
As a side note I think it's funny that CCP could release a free xpac for Eve that's basically just a big patch but when AV does it its a scam and the games dead lol.
I love Eve don;t get me wrong but I think the DF haters on these forums are a bit off thier rockers. Playing: EvE, Ryzom |

Are you stupid or something? All of this and even more should have been in the game at release in February..and you don`t even know how or if it will work as it should...welcome to another part of beta...and let`s not forget the horrible state the game is in at the moment...so much for OWND....geez and you even pay for that |

I'm in fanboy mode again and I don't care OWND OWND OWND OWND Well it is nice to see Aventurine FINALLY put in what was promised before release. While it looks good, know knows how well it it run ingame. With the weather effects I can see major lag happening again. Just because this is being released before MO's beta means nothing. This is all stuff that should have been added 5 months ago. Ever hear a little too late? This is it. While it might bring back a few players. I think most are done with this game and looking forward to other games. But we will see what happens. If things are running smoothly in 6 months and the game has a good population of more than 10,000 Then I'll subscribe. Not untill then. You never left Fanboi mode. So just stay your course. By now very few people here or on the official forums cares about your little useless statements. Just so you know the only ones that got owned was Aventurine. Why do you think this was done? They know they are dead and this is the last effort they have to keep subscribers. |

So now that player housing has been announced, the question must surely be: Darkfall fans - is player housing still for carebears and obviously would kill PVP if implemented? |
