I have found at least 1 feature i wish every MMO had and it is  SHIFT+F12

Thats right shift+F12 hides all PC's (except their names) This is such a useful feature for crowded areas especially areas where players have setup shops especially for those who may be playing on older systems.

Another is "Sell Misc Loot"  One button automatically dumps all the grey junk loot - loot that serves no other purpose in MMOs other than to be sold - into the sell window.

A few thoughts on the matter.

1 player shops are so asian and outdated and a very bad way to sell things ,it does cause over crowding in certain areas, usually a town setting.Games should be using auction houses ,it keeps the areas clean and tidy, not a million messy names all over the area,to where you cannot make out any of it.

2 Most people are crying for massive battles,so if you remove all the players, there is no more massive, leaving just the names, really makes a mock of the situation,it would look very unrealistic with just names floating around.

3 lastly ,if there is a ton of players hanging out, then the game must be boring, why are they not out playing.I never liked seeing a ton of AFK players in any game ,just hanging out for no reason. So with the removal of player shops, there shoudl be a set time, and a set place for players to go afk.FFXI had moghouses, that would be fine. However if players are AFK out in the open in a known busy area, there should be a time limit then the player is removed or auto logged.

Am I the only one that thinks this is a completely unneeded feature? Rather than programming a sell all grey loot option, why not just do away with grey loot? I have always found it to be a waste of dev time to make loot that serves no other purpose than to be sold. Just have the mob drop coin, or have a "corpse appraisal", in which when you loot the corpse, any value from the corpse is credited to you. Grey items serve no other purpose than to junk up your inventory anyway...

I, for one, love player shops as an option. I like to use Auction Halls most of the time, but being able to sell items at an increased price due to convenience is awesome. Like, selling consumables near an instance entrance, or in popular leveling areas. Great ways to be an entrepreneur.

I sort of agree, gray loot is a waste of everyone's time, however it COULD be made useful.A game if it has decent content, could have crafting desynths like FFXI had. That way you could break down the items for crafting purposes.Crafting is still a very under used idea in gaming, there is so much more that coudl be done in crafting it is sad DEVS are too lazy and cheap to utilize it.

I would like to see devs continually make new crafts using the so called useless loot, that way there is no such thing as useless loot, there is a bazillion combinations possible in crafting,it would be never ending with new crafts every week or month.

Aion has an auction house. So you have the option to list your items at the broker (auction house) for a fee or to setup a player shop wherever you want for no fee.

It's on of the things I really like about Aion - that you have both options available. The sell misc and sort buttons are very nice as well.

People complained in L2 because rabbits dropped money, so, in Aion, NCsoft decided to give money to the humanoids, and crap with a certain value to the non humanoid mobs.

I think Rally hit the nail on the head. It's two sources of income at once. You can only have so much in the Broker and so much to sell at one time.

Agreed that junk loot should be done away with.  But as long as it's there then the feature is useful.
