Heads up European Aion fans because NCsoft have just announced their pre-order plans for the game. From today you'll be able to pre-order the either the standard steelbook or special collector's edition (limited to 15,000 copies in Europe and Australia) of the game via selected outlets. Trust me, you really want to do this because you'll get special bonus in-game items and the ability to reserve your character name along with early-access to the servers.

The pre-order will be especially relevant to those of you not yet in the beta (the next stage of which starts this weekend). Pre-ordering will get you a key which will allow you access to all the upcoming beta tests. You will also get access to stat-boosting items including the Lodas' Amulet, the Black Cloud Hat and one of four Ancient Rings of Power as well as being able to play the game two days before the rest of the world. Actually I think that alone makes Aion worth pre-ordering but whatever you do, don't forget to stay tuned to Massively this weekend when we'll be posting a first look at the Asmodian leg of the beta.

I did and got a serial code and when I try to enter it and create my account it says:

The game you are attempting to create is not allowed in your region.

So I just bought a key and can't use it.

You will get all the added bonuses for pre-order and ofc if you order the CE you will get all in game items,you will also get 7 free days of play time as well as a reduced price(no box items ofc).

I guess it is what you want,the CE in game items or the whole thing.

Really sorry to hear mate. If it was me, I'd ask for a refund, and if I couldn't...Fuck I'd rage IRL (I HATE to lose money).

Mate, try to sell it, maybe for a gaming acc (some fps maybe?)

I've raised an incident with NCSoft support, will wait on the result.

I assumed Aion would use the same model as L2, ie, US, AUS and Euro can play on the same servers, I'll be frustrated if this is not possible.

Cost to date: 10 Euro, about 20 bucks australian.

More importantly, I want to give the game a go on the weekend...

yay another game promising early start + useless item after first day, this reminds me too much of aoc and war.. got whooping 0 interest to preorder..

I just checked it, but they charge you the full game (50 euro) immediately all in advance!

Can you change your region in your NC account, then type in the code.

Grrrrrr.  Apparently a lot of users all over Europe are having the same issue.  I have raised a ticket and I will cancel my pre-order if they don't sort this out pronto as it will give me a clear indication as to how good NCSoft's customer service skills are.

I am not holding my breath.

It could be an issue with Fileplanet giving out the wrong keys, wouldn't be surprised at least with them.

I gave it a good googling and it would appear to be happening to EU pre order beta customers too.

Lets see what NC soft says.  It will be a good (beta) test of their customer services which in many ways is more important than the game itself. 

They have promised me a response within 24 hours.

As far as I can tell it was an EU Beta Key and I have downloaded both EU and US clients and got the same message on both.

The way NCSoft deal with this makes a difference as to whether or not I cancel my pre order.

As far as i know Fileplanet betakeys are for NA only

I did specify EU.  Guess they could have sent the wrong one but google indicates that there are a lot of users with this issue some of which are in the EU and some are in the US so perhaps the keys have got mixed up at source somehow.

Kinda given up on it now.  The beta test is now of NC Soft customer service and not Aion.  Will keep the beta key in case they sort it out.  I

yeah i went to a brick and mortar store here in the states (Best Buy) that way i had the option of picking up and paying for the game at release or not. After several hours of beta i can say im going to get it on release but its good to keep your options open.
