Well.. i will try to explain it again.. It is the principle wich is all wrong. You paying to check a unfinnished product, $1 or $5 or $50 or whatever doesnt matter. One might say.. "no you paying to Pre_Order something.." Pre_ORder? Why would anyone pre_order something you can download in a few minutes? OH wait.. if i pre_order this something, i get to even enter the Beta_of_nothing_gonna_be_changed called Closed Beta/preview while in fact is Limited_preview_of _the_finnished_part_of_the_game_you_can_see. Furthermore i can even ride_the_mount_of_wonderland_that_will_be_available_to_all_after_launch AND i can start playing before the others do!!! Woot! Same applies to the limited Beta events wich is commonly related to this pre_order_bonus_enter_pseudo_beta where you can only play a very limited timeframe of the game and just some levels. Age OF Conan's Funcom was prolly one of the first to use theese schemes in order to promote and make a buyable product knowing it had several and grave flaws. Is NCSoft doing the same? Does the game seem polished and finnished to you? What about the security breaches lots of people been complanning at ? How about hacks and the way they trying to shutup players who talk about it? How about several existing exploits ingame that are totally unaceptable in a todays game and that will probably required lots of work to solve? Is it really THAT finnished or is someone trying to lead you to believe it is? See when the commmon Joa sees all this.. the common Joe wich DOES read MMORPG forums even if you believe he/she does not, will wonder.
I'll try to explain it to you. I'm going to buy this game. I pre-ordered so that I could play it a lil bit before it comes out. Im super pleased to pay 10% of the price of the game early so I can play it early. It is a scheme, by ME! I took NC Soft! Those suckers are letting me play a game that's not even released...hahaha! I win. |

I still can't understand how people can still complain about this, they actually let you test the game without paying $50 to play for 2 hours and then never play again. Trolling a game because of a purchase that can be refunded is so fail. There are many points Aion is lacking, why don't you troll about those? Point a perfect MMO though in which I can't find lacking points to troll about though and hopefully you understand something you consider lacking may be the what others don't care about or they like it. For example, I never level alts. Either the game has enough content to keep my main and only character busy (must also be fun), or I'll wait to resub when it does. New areas aren't enough to make me level and alt - I am already experienced with the game mechanics and lore, so I won't have the "newbie first-timer" feeling again, so IMO developing new starter areas are a waste when they could be working on end-game and the "middle"-game, as the new player experience is ok as it is. And this beta isn't the beta you usually see, this is a beta event for the localization of the game - most bugs will only be adaptation mistakes and the known issues they posted on their forums. They could advertise it as a preview event instead of beta, but it isn't really the case as the localization process is NOT complete, there are no voiceovers and the cinematics still aren't with voices, plus the in-game movies aren't avaiable. |

They weren't even planning on having a NA/EU beta, it was supposed to be Preview events, not beta.
Also as the second poster said, there have been plenty of opportunities (both Korean and Chinese betas) to try the game. |

Seems to me like the OP is upset because he isn't getting to play Aion before its released. He seems to think that betas are there for people to test out and decide to buy a game before its released and that any copy that doesn't have an open beta is conducting "shady business practices"... Honestly I can't help but wonder what would happen to the quality of games if more people who beta tested them were actually beta testing them and not just trying them out to see if they want to buy them... I remember back in the day when it was actually difficult to get into betas and more often than not you did not get into them. |

$50...Thats about as much as I spend taking the girl friend to dinner and a movie. I paid to play this last beta weekend and think that I got my money out of it. The game certainly seems retail ready to me. Many games have been release with less content and features. Everything seemed to work well that I tried. I probably won't play it on release because it's just not as rewarding as FFXI or EVE to me... but I think it will do fine. I in no way feel cheated or scammed. Nor do I feel that NCSoft is doing anything shifty. I was dissapointed that I couldnt post on the beta forums after the beta closed.. I spent my time playing thinking I could post about bugs and typos on tuesday, oh well. Kinda feeling like I cheated them, participating in a beta and not really offering anything constructive.

If a person chooses to work in reverse and pre-order a game just to preview it - especially when there have been multiple avenues to preview it for free and watch tons of reviews and videos about the game - that's not a scam on the seller's part, it's a really odd decision on the buyer's part.

This is probably the most finished game I have played in a long time. |

OP Aion is releasing with patch 1.5. Do some research and remove that tin foil hat of yours please. Click the link and read. If this game is incomplete then GOD know what a complete game looks like.
