It's going to be interesting to see if the company can survive another MMO shutdown, but things are not looking good core players canceling their pre orders left and right..the game getting more Craebear with each patch..dark days ahead for Ncsoft.

I don't think it will fail, but me and wife are trying beta from preorder and she hates the look. i hope the plan to give the graphics a bit more then the WoW /guildwars + graphics. i was hoping for more like lineage 2 +++ . the game play seem very plain . i will still play it and see what higher levels have and hope that they have great guild stuff and hope for some form of guild if not player housing. If not then will be just another grindy game from the east...

You know guy....I can spend a week telling you how retarded you post is. NCsoft is designing a game that will appeal to the broadest group possible, and that group doesn’t want Gank on sight PVP. They had to tone PVP down or they would not have had a marketable product, I think folks like you are just pissed because you were spamming all the major forums that Aion was going to be Forced PVP and NCsoft made you look like idiots.
 
Honestly who cares if a couple sociopaths cancel their Pre-Orders?....Aion is still at number 1 at Gaemstop/EB, and at number 3 on Amazon.

Aion didn't fail it is in fact a massive success.
 

Why did aion fail... 3 months before launch.

I don't like Aion very much, but did you realize that Aion will probably pull a large subscriber base from the looks of it?  If it does that means you are WRONG.

I actually find the graphics quite nice, it seems like an amped up L2 graphics style. I am also enjoying the gameplay even though its nothing revolutionary or anything.

No doubt.  The OP says Aion has failed and it doesn't even come out for another 2+ months!!!

No way, not even in the same zone as L2, Aion is more like a water color painting not a living breathing world.

You can't say aion failed actually aion is a major success allready in asia and I hate aion cause i waited 2 years checking online for news and when i tried it i lost interest right away, but that dont mean it will fail. If you try all the crapy mmorpgs coming out of korea and how many people play them you would know better that will not fail.tabula rasa failed cause it was a shooter mmorpg.

It Had 3.5 million before folks found out that NCsoft did a bait and switch. They  took the PVP game cut it's throat and left it in a alley...They have nerfed it so bad that it is damn near impossible to Rift gank now. real gamers (notice I said real gamers not Carebears) will not stand for this and they will vote with their wallets.

This reminds of why beta's should remain beta's, and not constant open beta's.  It's come to the point of where people buy a fileplanet subscription or hawk around MMO sites waiting for a beta key and just abuse the beta as a "Take a look before you buy" tool, and using up all the keys that should be giving instead to those who are actually willing to provide constant bug reports and actually ATTEMPT to "Beta test" the game.  I'm glad I don't have to deal like punks like the OP in alpha tests, I would go insane.

And it seems for you no one is playing the Beta - everyone's just canceling their pre-orders and jumping boat.

I must be seeing ghosts then, the beta servers are so crowded we have to use the channel-system to our advantage otherwise we can't hunt (fortunately the channel system is very clever to prevent area overcrowding), although we may need to switch channel a few times to find the right one.

And about PvP, what is wrong with it? Are you sad because you won't be able to camp newbs? Is that the kind of PvP you want? The kind of PvP I want is a challenge - if I'm raiding enemy territories I want to draw attention - and the 1.2 bounty system or w/e it is called will help me achieve it. If I'm in the Abyss, I'm in a constant war, it's basically full PvPvE.

I don't even know why I bothered posting this as OP does not seem so mature considering his opinions seem so absolute for him.

Dude....the vast majority of people do not want forced PVP I mean who wants to be collecting mats for crafting only to be waylaid by six sociopaths ten levels higher than you? Its still currently the 2nd most played MMO in exsistance.  I think that you are extremely premature and perhaps in some way personally offended in your campaign against this game.

What did Aion do to you?  Did it kick your dog?

No if it is the same Jotull I'm thinking about; him and a couple others spent a good bit of time on the Aion beta boards telling everyone Aion was forced PVP that the producers were lying to us to get us to buy and talking about "how sweet it would be to gank all the WoW noobs before they QQ quit" Well Liv banned their sorry asses and announced that there would be no Forced PVP in Aion, Brian popped on a bit later and confirmed it.....and since then he has been going around preaching how NCsoft betrayed the PVPer.

In short this tard is nuts.
