Anyone else get this? Hello from Amazon.com. We have received new release date information related to your pre-ordered video game in the order you placed on June 05 2009 (Order# xxx-xxxxxxx-xxxxxxx). The release date for the video game listed below has been changed by the publisher, and we want to provide you with a new delivery estimate based on the new release date: "Aion Collector's Edition"
When I logged into my Amazon account it says that they estimate the item will SHIP on or around September 29th instead of 22nd. I've never pre-ordered anything from Amazon before, so I'm wondering if they do this frequently to cover their own butt or if I should really expect to not receive my CE until October. Either way it seems kinda odd. No godless person can comprehend those minute distinctions |

Well you have your beta key already I assume and have instakked the game already so it's just the box and disks that will arrive late. You can still play at start. Fan sites: Official sites: |

well if they email you a key then that should provide you with a link to DL the client online. So, even if your CE came later than release it wouldn't be so bad as to hinder your playing during headstart. |

I've never pre-ordered with Amazon so I can't say. Gamestop (as an example) doesn't really list anything like that. They just show the expected live date (not an estimated ship/delivery).
I have no idea why they would not even have the product to ship until a week after it was live. So it may just be a system issue (only amazon would know). I mean if you order from gamestop (I use this example because I use them) with overnight, it will be at your door the day the game goes live. Well I should say that is how its always been... obviously in this world things are never certain anymore (har har).
WAR had quite a few issues with pre-order and ended up extending the period of time before you had to enter your "retail key"...
Just have to see what happens... you could email their support and ask about the dates if it is really bothering you. Typical thread: Blocked, blocked, blocked, intellegent post I may not agree with, blocked, blocked, blocked, intellegent post I may agree with, blocked, blocked... |

Well Amazon is bad for over selling Collectors editions...they did it with BC and WOTLK about a week before it ships look for another email telling you that sales exceeded supplies and they can't promise the order will be filled, followed by a this item is back ordered email.
It's sucks but that amazon for ya. |

this is why i prefer brick and mortor stores for almost everything (still shop online for N64 stuff cause thats just too old to find anywhere else). with WAR i walked into my ebgames store the day of release and picked up my CE, I plan on doing the same for Aion (potentially the day after release, due to work)
I know some people have problems with certain game stores, but I do suggest you avoid online shopping when you want to get something right when it releases. yes, a lot of the time they get it to you on time, but I just don't like the risk, and plenty of people do have problems. Everything creates huge amounts of negativity on the internet, that's what the internet is for: Negativity, porn and lolcats. |
