I started my download last night and have left it running for almost 24 hours now but it's only at 70% and getting slower by the hour. I know it's a pretty big file "around 5.4gigs"  but is anyone else having issues downloading the game? I can't even see the download speed I'm getting through NCsoft's Launcher program.

Probably because everyone and their mother's dog is trying to download it at once... it may improve as more people finish the download, but by then yours might be done finally as well.

Don't feel bad. The first cb took like 2 days for me to download......I'm starting to worry I wont get the patch done in time for me to play fri afternoon.

It took about 14 hours but well worth it..........

yes , be patient , if you have to use a site like mininova or something, its faster.

This is a closed beta for NA right?

The characters you start will be wiped when it goes live right?

Just wondering if I should be freaking out and buying a copy now.

its NA as far as i know.

and personally i would try it before you buy it. about 85% of the time i try out a game before i buy it

Oh I have tried it, played in the Korean and Chinese beta a long way back, decided it was good enough to pick up when it releases in NA, just was wondering when I will finally have a chance to play on the NA servers and have a character that won't be wiped.

I just used the launcher from Ncsoft instead of the Fileplanet one. Took about 4 hours at 240kb/s.

Everytime FP has one of these beta events, I always download from the game's official site if possible, since all the traffic is on the FP one.

i dont know for a fact the date it launches. however gamestop has it set at september 22. this could be right or it could be wrong

Dont see how you can even get that high.. You would think they would have a individual cap on their download launcher.  And even if they didn't.. 3/4 of the time I never go above 80kb a second.. once in awhile ill jump to 300-400ish, but thats it.

err playing on NA/EU servers are a different experience all together. I played on China server for a while, lags, delays and high latency was doing my head in.

Started playing on NA/EU beta and I got way better response and the timing of moving behind a mob to back-stab was right. I would recommend you trying NA/EU BETA. It is a much better game play experience for NA/EU players.

Chars will most likely be deleted when they take the servers offline permenently, but it is way way better to play Aion than to do my regular weekend stuff. My aim isto reach lvl20 asap and try to see if I can get into a rift or something. that's where I can truely test my timing, reaction and BLOOD RUSH :)

My download has been running for about 7 hours now. I've had to restart it numerous times because it seems like it's timing out. I'm at 85% so hopefully I might be able to play tomorrow sometime.

That's the official date so yes it's right. Everything will be wiped in both closed and open beta. BUT if you pre order you get a 48 hour head start. Depends if starting early really matters to you or not and you get a few extra goodies just for pre ordering ANY copy.
