Why should anyone avoid PVP in Aion anyway?
I mean maybe those people should try Champions online, LOTRO or another MMO oriented to full PVE, they will get a better gaming experience in PVE.

When I'm tired of PvP I want to know that this game will still offer me something to do. You know sometimes when you are playing you might want to just solo some stuff or another time maybe group and do a dungeon, and yet another time maybe go out and do some pvp, or siege a fort. I don't like to only do one thing and PvP does sometimes piss me off when you get harrased by jerks that frequently get the jollies from just harrassing people. Unfortunately there aren't any new PvE games coming out. And Aion does look fabulous. And personally I liked how DaoC was laid out where you could pve for leveling and go do some rvr when you wanted to do something different. Same with Warhammer the RvR stuff was fun, but when I was leveling I had safe areas I could go to level up without worrying about being ganked. |

Technically there really are no safe areas in AION but for the most part you can avoid PvP easily enough. Just go to a different area if there are others around picking fights. The world is big enough they won't be too much in your home areas. Fan sites: Official sites: |

There are tons of people who rarely goto Abyss... I read some posts that you will be missing out on some items by not going to Abyss for leveling but that's absolutely not true. You can get plenty of abyss points by taking "portals" to opposing faction's realm and beat the crap out of them :) Although if you kill too many you will be cursed and your whereabout will be shown on every player's map... Anyway, plenty of PvE stuff to do and enough crafting to make you frustrated. However, never think that you will not be ganked by opposing race when you are "peacefully" exp-ing. There will ALWAYS ALWAYS be opposing faction who will take the "portal" to your realm and backstab you. I think I get killed at least once a day while traveling around... it's quite annoying to be honest. Don't worry when you are a lowbie though... no portals in lowbie zones (First two zones) The portals open up every two hours and each portal can carry 50 players (I think). Also, there can be up to two portals at a time which means you might see 100 opposing faction players in your realm... |

Haha, what a surprise from the person doing his best to portray WAR as a game still full of promise and great prospects over on the WAR forums.

Outside the first couple of zones, expect to be ganked. Out there is someone who will level like mad just to "farm" some newbies to show off his life skills. This is the way of life on any pvp game. Aion has incredible graphics and animations. The combat and gameplay are fairly fast paced and fun. I did really want the voice overs / cut scences thou and I was sad that not all of them were ready. |

Hard to say without experiencing it but I'm thinking these portals will not be particularly troublesome but just add a little excitement. If it is like other games you will have an incursion of the enemy and people will ralley and kill them off in a fun little skirmish. Generally at the moment of the portal opening and for 15-30 minutes after there will be a bit of chaos but after that it would be pretty managable to avoid or join in on the slaughter sending the invaders back to their realms. When you kill them are they banished back to their realm? |

This is incorrect. You can level up to 50 w/out ever stepping into the Abyss. It's slower because the mobs give less experience, but its easily doable. |

If you are afraid about getting ganked in the abyss, get some friends to play, I'm going to play with 2-3 friends all the time. nom nom nom |

"When you kill them are they banished back to their realm?" There is an item called "Kiosk" (I am not sure if this is the correct term for the US version of Aion). These are carriable item which you can use to place them on the land. Once you place the Kiosk you can register yourself to the Kiosk which will allow you to have a new spawning point. Each party Kiosk allows 20 respawns, and Force Kiosk allows 75(?) respawns. So usually, when people take the portal, they will install a kiosk and respawn quite a few times to play and hang out before going back to the respawning point in your own realm. In the Korean version, people found "unreachable" area in the mountains where the opposing race "can not" reach, and they install the kiosk there. |
