Lance Stites, Executive Producer at NCSoft West addresses the NCSoft community in an open letter today.

In the letter, Mr. Stites addresses some of the recent happenings with regards to their Exteel, Lineage II, and Aion properties. Mr. Stites also describes what we can expect from NCSoft going forward and especially with the upcoming launch of Aion this September.

I know that many fans are extremely anxious, impatient even, awaiting the release of Aion. I can assure you the team is fully engaged in the release of this product. We’ve got an army of creative writers generating an enormous amount of rewrites as we execute to our total commitment of quality of content. Our Localization Manager has vendors in place, keeping pace with the French and German translation. We’re actively recruiting an additional native German speaking localization Project Manager and have added QA Testers (native French and German speaking) to the Seattle office. We’ve got Voice Over recordings underway (of course for all three languages) and our PR and Marketing teams are releasing the hounds and you’ve likely seen the articles on class descriptions hit the internet. We also have tutorial videos in production, this should provide a great Aion first experience, both to novice and experience MMO players. We’ve shared details of our Collector’s Edition recently, our first public access beta event was very well received, and we’ll continue these events through our launch. We’ll have a flood of information in the upcoming days and invite you all to share the experience as Aion takes flight in North America and Europe this fall.

Read the letter in its entirety here.

Bah... this is not the way...

Interesting... from the A Letter to Our Fans on Guildwars.com posted in Feb:

In fact, the reason NCsoft West is restructuring itself is so that the company can put all of its focus into its top-tier games like Guild Wars 2.
No mention of Guild Wars 2 in today's open letter, though.

Did they switch it's dev management offices again? Or is GW2 so low on the totem pole that it is so easily forgotten? The silence surrounding that game irks me to no end.

The gates of Hell are open night and day; smooth the descent and easy is the way.

GW2 Definitely doesn't have the same feeling of hype and exposure that the original had. Hopefully they are just waiting until Aion is released to go full force on GW2.

hmmmm. quite an interesting  letter from Mr Stites..NOT!!   This is one of the most bogus, well thought out PR letters I have seen in quite some time.  Besides the regular form letter production info that takes place  with all games preceding its release,  Mr Stites told us "nothing".  This IMO, is nothing more than  PR hoping to keep us on the feeding frenzy with tidbits of this.....particles of that.. and a wee bit of Open beta...teaser.  After this "fun filled.. fact filled.. info drenched" letter I know no more now than I did  days ago.  Thank you so much Mr. Stites for the great insight...

Talk about being bitter.. How about you grow up and then come back and post. No one needs to hear you whine over something like this. The fact he does these letters every few months is a nice jesture. I guess that's not enough though?

I do apologize if it sounds like mindless ranitng & raving. I didn't  expect it to come across this way.  I  have been frustrated with the "Aion" NA access dilemma for sometime.  yes, you are correct he was at leats willing to give us the "scoop"  periodically and that is more than some do.  I guess I was looking for something that wasn't there, and was disappointed.  I wil be a bit more constructive next time.

P.S. but you must admit there are  times when info is kind of like "form letter" style, that was my point is all
