WAR - European or NA Account LOTRO - European or NA Account World of Warcraft - European or NA Account Can only confirm the games I have played. So far all those people who bought Darkfall when they KNEW THE GAME WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE IN THE US FOR MONTHS and you did not expect you would have to open a new account? Will it be the same for all those people who bought Aion Koren acccounts who are located in Europe and US? I would say yes. Accounts can not be backhauled across diferent companies who manage accounts in different continents using probably different methods to store data. Just the way it is............ |

Pirates of the Burning Sea. Buy your account in your home country play on any server worldwide, even on servers operated by other publishers. There are other companies who do this it's not exclusively one way or the other. The point being only idiots would mislead their customers that way. Knowing they were being misled, even if unintentionally, is as simple as reading their own forums. Willful ignorance is no excuse. Originally posted by iank240 Tasos already told the future DarkFall customers how it was SUPPOSED to be: "Our first release is the European release. The North American release will follow as soon as possible but not until a few months later. We’re allowing players from N. America to participate in the European release due to this fact. Of course we’ll make some allowances for these players if they would like to move to the US server when it launches."
Please tell me what the "allowance" is that NA players are receiving at the time of "when it launches"?
3 months later is NOT "when it launches" Re-buying the client at full-price is NOT an "allowance"
So yeah, please tell us "How It Is" that Tasos' promise to the NA players is being fulfilled? I'm really curious. |

These posts of how it is, deal with it, all companies do this, is total BS. If this was your intention and it was known I can guarentee only a few rabid followers would have done it. No way in hell everyone that bought EU and would have known this info would be so stupid to have followed this route. Stop justifying it, its a scam flat out. |

I told AV to stuff it. I will never go back. It's not the money, it's the principle. |

Just to play the devil's advocate here. Has it occured to anyone that maybe, just maybe, that Aventurine didn't realize that securing the publishing rights in the U.S. would be difficult, if not impossible?
Apparently, it is the latter. Whomever holds the rights refused to relinquish them, therefore we have the debacle that is.
Don't get me wrong, I can't tolerate Tasos in any sense of the word, but I'll chalk this episode up to someone that had NO clue how things work in the real world (read: global), and made statements his ass couldn't cover.
In a nutshell, chalk it up to sheer ignorance... 601 |

On a side note show me anywhere that Aion said you could join them on Chinese version and transfer over to NA when it s released. It s common knowledge that if you make an account there thats it. People that do it know full well they have to buy a new copy etc when NA releases. Now if NC Soft said come join us just pay $$$ and when NA is released we ll let you transfer. Then all of a sudden said oh btw it will cost you full price, or wait a few months and a transfer fee, yes I would be pissed with them too. |

SOE have the policy that you can play on whatever server you want to. I played EQ2 both on british and american servers... It should really be standard, but in this case is the problem that Tasos said that you should be able to transfer for free. It was actually rather stupid of him, because being able to play both on US and EU servers are good but transfering character to a new started server is not a good idea, there have been exploits that are fixed now and people who starts on the new server would then be in big disadvantage to the people who started on the EU server. But as I said, the problem is that Tasos said you could transfer for free, otherwise it would just be like most other games. |
