i barely ever edit my messages. and my grammar is atrocious |
my title basically sums it up. what is the most intolerable part of a game to you? bad graphics, no story, too many children, or mabye you dont like the fighting, you dont like the controls they're too difficult. Don't list any names of games that are on your mind just tell me what you can't tolerate in a game. and yes i looked all through the forum already.
also i made a poll vote for whichever is most important to you.

I voted for a great combat system, but this reply is an answer to the title of your post. What thing can I not tolerate in a game? If a game is lacking in one department but is exceptional in others, it might be enough for me to continue to pay a subscription and give the Devs a few months to address the deficiency. Very rarely I'll be surprised with some improvements but it does happen. There are two things that will make me both leave a game AND not want to have anything to do with a company's future products. 1) When a company will outright *LIE* to the player base about a critical portion of a game. An example of this would be Sony and Star Wars Galaxies with the NGE implimentation. Blizzard is a culprit of this as well where spokespersons will make one claim to assuage the playerbase of a class or playstyle, and then a month later sweeping changes are made with proof of very poor testing. In their defense, they've gotten better about it, but I wouldn't know I haven't been subscribed to WoW in over a year. 2) When a company lays out a written rules set for their game and expected list of conduct from the players, and then the company fails to enforce those rules and expected conduct from their players so as to not offend and make the most money possible. Shame on both of you, Sony and Blizzard. You could stand to learn a LOT from Mythic, Turbine, and old school Cryptic Studios on this one. |

Games that allow/encourage hacks/hackers to get too much of an advantage, especially in pvp |

A great combat system combined with a good spread of difficulty options is the baseline for a great MMORPG for me. But it's really the other features that keep me playing (because COH had a solid combat system with varied difficulty levels, but it's weak loot/crafting systems and somewhat repetitive content lost me.) |

Challenging/hardcore gameplay, but not full loot and full pvp which encourages zerg tactics and naked morons. |

The community. A bad community in a game will drive me away faster than any other issue. |

For me I need a decent crafting system and a variety of trade/life skills in a game in order for it to hold my interest...without that its pretty much over for me I AM like the wind! |

What do i tolerate least in the game? being generic. i hate generic games, which is basically all thats been coming out for the last 5 years. What do i want most in a game? good gameplay over all: originality, more advanced tradeskilling, less emphasis strictly on combat, ways around skill grinding, a big world, lots of skills accessable to a single player... hell if i had all of that in one game then i would be in heaven |

No surprise that "a great combat system" takes the cake in the pull. Most MMOs are based off of combat (most games in general actually). What I can't stand are bugs and a clunky UI. Something as basic and simple as lousy control and programming can affect my enjoyment of the game. Basically, I can touch the game, play it for 5 minutes, and decide whether I like it or not based on that. Obviously this is easily fixable stuff, so why hasn't anyone FIXXED it? |

I can not stand when I am in game and I hear others compare or complain about the game being about a completly different game... I have played 1st and 3rd person MMOs, Sci-fi, Fantasy, Horror, etc. and I have heard them compared to other games. That is a complete turn-off. In retrospec, I guess that would not be the game, that would be the community/people playing in-game, however it is still the same... |

This doesn't really apply to MMOs as far as I know, but draconian DRM. Stuff that is always on, can't be removed, and limits the number of installs. There are many games I have not purchased because of this. |

I like PvP, but I hate PKing/griefing. Especially if there's no consequences for the PKers. It's not PvP when you're killing people logging or zoning in and can't defend themselves. It's not PvP when you sneak up on toons significantly lower than you are and one shot them. Or when you have a bunch of your PK buddies and zerg a single target repeatedly. If a game allows any of those things, or has no consequences for those things, then I'm out. Current: None |
