last game that I enjoyed was AION Beta, really nice polished game. Very linear, but before that I had been playing Darkfall - so I enjoyed not having to think as much. Darkfall I have to say is by far the best game I have played in a very, very long time. The only issue is that I am a family man and to get the best from Darkfall you need to be prepared to pay 4-8 hours per day. Sieges take 6 hours+ and are where all the best fun is to be had. Grinding skills takes forever, but has a nice sense of achievement attached to it - so it's worth the effort IMO. Only issue is that for a casual player, your going to struggle a bit, someone who can only play a hour or so at the time is going to find things hard and a massive grind. But, if MMO's are your main pastime, you would love it. My first love was FFXI, so naturally I am drawn to AION and the new FF next year. |

EQ and DAoC....the group/solo mob ballance was perfect....what ever happened to groups fighting higher lvl mobs instead of these impossible to solo mobs? these games all had plenty of solo content and the reason to group was so you could fight higher lvl mob, not fight 4-6 dot mobs. All the mobs in these games had a chance to drop nice gear, not just the uber mobs. what ever happened to that style of play? http://patriotsforamerica.ning.com/profile/Jason http://www.graveconfessions.site90.com/ |

Very briefly WAR, but it faded quickly. I would say FFXI, for it s challenge which I enjoyed. |

The last MMORPG I played where I went "Wow! This is fun!" was in Warhammer Online back when the game first came out, there was a lot of RvR (pvp) going on in the open world rvr areas of Tier 1. There were dozens of players on each side and me and a few buddies went into the fray. There was a lot of turtling going on, both sides sitting around looking at each other with ranged classes moving in and picking at some people, then backing out to be healed, that kind of thing. Me (black orc) and a friend (chosen) decided we'd had enough of that and used our emotes to signal a charge, used our shield wall ability which protects everyone behind you in a cone, and we charged the enemy formation... And suprisingly, everyone followed! We got heals, the ranged moved in, all the melee exploded forward and just like that a skirmish had irrupted into an all out brawl, we pushed the Order back to the capture points and claimed them for our army, fighting off wave after wave on Order reinforcements and counter-attacks. Once Order had given up the assault and things calmed down, I literally gave a long exhaling sigh saying to myself "wow, I haven't had this much fun in PvP since UO."

Pirates of the Burning sea, took the free trail dident expect mush but it has hold my interest for over a month now. Before that Tortage during closed beta of AOC, the voice overs and the animations and the combat was awsome, to bad they left to many bugs in the game to make it playabal at launch Playing my Dwarf In WoW felt fresh and new the first few weeks after the game came out EvE.. my true mistress, nothing beats IT :) Linage2, I reely liked this game when it came out, one of the first MMOs that I got hooked on. |

The Tortage part in Age of Conan. it was incredible and a ton of fun. Too bad I had to leave Tortage and go out in the world. Biggest letdown ever. |

Suprisingly my last 'Wow this is fun' moment was probably the first large open world battle I took place in on WAR shame that the general problems of that game eventually ruined that, but hell it was fun while it lasted. |

Vanguard. Not my first at all. I tried EQ2, AoC, LOTRO - My reaction to all three was "wow, this is really nothing new or interesting at all. How boring".

AoC was the last one for me. I was actually getting into the game and would still be playing it if Funcom hadn't of screwedd up so much of it...like taking away our mounts abilities and nerfing so much and not fixing certain things - gave up on it. Now I am playing EvE and having some fun again. Not quite as much fun as I had playing saying Planetside, but I can see myself playing EvE for a couple of years or more. If they add Ambulation I'll be hooked for a very long time. :) ![]() |

I've had a few WoW moments. UO was the first online game I played so everything was amazing. DAoC the landscape and the first time seeing a keep was wow. The lastly the last time I attempted to raid on WoW I was like wow this is not the kind of people I want to be seen with even online.

SWG - pre nge. ( lol how original! ) PS: and about rancors i still remember my first day arriving at the space port of mos esley welcomed by a guy - Anarchy online. ( back in the days we gathered at friends home to play with our laptops ) Neocron 2- ( first week was absolute blast, a pure dark sci fi universe, then the flaws of the gamedesign and buggs drawned me) Aoc ( still playing - music, graphics, some quest storys are pure gems ) - censored - |

While I have enjoyed a number of MMO's over the years such as COH, Planetside, WAR and SWG-preCU (sigh). Nothing can match the magic of my first MMO, DAoC. Not because DAoC was such a great game (it was till ToA), but it was that first step into the wild world of MMORPGs and the unknown adventure it promised. Now I don't think any game will ever recreate that feeling, because that new car smell is gone. Maybe that's why so many people feel like they are just doing the same old thing with every new MMO, that feeling of unknown adventure is gone. |

Shadowbane beta for me. I left soon after release, but the beta was pretty epic. When the herald on the main site was taking our sieges and battles and making story's out of it. Really added a lot of role play value, and really gave you the feeling that you were effecting the world, it was like we were the story, something I haven't seen from MMO's before or after it. |
