Since you put that statement in your 'past' category you might want to qualify it. Wasn't there full looting in the early days of UO? Methinks so. :) Ah, good times. IronOre - Forging the Future |

I don't know about the best, but a few games that really got me hooked into the PvP, would have to be ActionQuake (quake2 mod), World of Warcraft once the honor system went live, but before the first battleground (warsong gulch) and loot rewards were implemented. And of course Team Fortress 2. I don't usually play MMORPGs for the PvP, but if its good I'll participate.
A few MMORPGs that I've tried the PvP in but did not like were EQ, Guild Wars, WAR, AoC and Fury. I liked the actual PvP combat in WAR and AOC, but neither game offered PvP for the sake of PvP. They always had to dangle some silly carrot on a stick in front of players, which totally takes the fun out of it for me, since many players tend to care less about the game, and more about the individual rewards. I also do not like WoW arenas. Not enough space in my opinion. |

My votes go towards: Past: UO / DAoC Present: NONE ... PERIOD ... Why i am posting it Future: NONE ..... One WoW ruined the MMO pvp market Second i am not funded yet ..... if any game could would be Mortal Online to many old UO Devs, since Mythic screwed up WAR |

I will agree with what Truthseeker said. I thought the PvP was brought out very well in guild wars. I enjoyed playing the game alot for a while. Andrew Kody Johnston |

Past: Dark Age of Camelot for sure Present: Well DAoC is still around, but not doing that well. There are no really fun pvp MMO's out now imo. Future: Hoping Mortal Online can deliver, though I somewhat doubt it. Nothing on the horizon that looks very promising to be honest |

lol agreed. Fat beaurocrats behind a desk with lots of cash support don't match the imagination of some 40+ year old AD&D dungeon master and his weekly get togethers around a wooden table.
R.I.P. mmorpg genre. |
