Its not necessarily the translations fault its the original concept and creative designs fault for the stereotypical hillbillie translations.

Okay, im going to use my handy dandy, omfg translator for this!

I think, what hes saying. Is that hes in the preview weekend, and he thinks that the quest information is not completely translated. Either that or there is a bunch of people in this preview weekend speaking L33T.

Seeing as I dont speak the OP's language I cant be certain.

P.S. For quick reference I speak, English and Greek.

What I'm saying is the NPC text is ridiculous. The present participle form of a word ending should be "ing" not "in". The quest text looks like Jed, Jethro, Elly Mae, and Granny wrote it.

Hence why this is a closed beta, only allowing leveling to 10. Why don't you make your reason for being productive and post about it on there beta forums (since this is what they asked for) which you should have access to if your in Beta.

Why would I post this on the beta forums? Its not a bug.

I didn't indend for the post to be constructive. I was making fun of the text. Jesus, you people are so sensitive about your fucking beloved game that you can't even recognize something said tongue-in-cheek when you see it. Grow a sense of humor.

I just got my sense of humor laughing at you making fun of a text in a game when the text in your own paragraph isnt up to snub, it's like yer typin' with a finger missin' or somethin'.

1 thing is sure im feeling bad i had high hope for this game but this game sound like any f2p game that was out 4 years ago ,no im wrong it sound exaclty like lineage 2 oo graphic look fair but this game will be a lag party i had to lower my setting way lower then they recommend or i would have been going at hasty 5 fps

this game will never be a wow killer i d rater play wow again instead .gees who think this can pass in america 4 years on to this game gees i hope content is good cause the sound effect from toon is so annoying i was desperate to get out after 4 lvl

sound effect from toon spell fire bolt is so anoying i wanted to trottle the toon if at least only my opponent heard it it might actually be fun but me hearing that gees no way not even till lvl 5 ,hell guild wars is 10 time better and its a 4 year old game

so i guess ill keep an eye on gw 2 then .and there i thot aion would be cool,if they want this game to be a wow killer they better post pone lunch cause it still miss 20 % work on it for america

its not just the sound either something is wrong that annoyed me first second i was in the game .dont know what tho

dont get me wrong it looks good in a gothic kind of way. makes me think of dracula went in a nuclear test zone

maybe im too used to cartoon look a la wow the shadow side it doesnt look like there in constant shadow they look underwater

nope this game aint for me

The first at least 15 levels are all about the opening of the storyline and learning, after 15 the game picks up big time, at least it did for me in the last beta, made lvl 17 and was frikking loving it.

In that case, my thought is that the original translators were trying to adopt a more common tone or a sort of "homey" feeling with the translations (is it a rural setting?) yet wasn't aware that their efforts would be a miss as far as how the players' reception would be.

It is no where near to the the extreme that he is making it out to be. Also, yes they ARE in a rural, small, back water area. If you actually bother reading all the quests you'll notice almost all of the bandits you're working with cannot write; the few that can, do it badly; and they're very proud of that they can write at all.

I haven't played past the Asmodian introduction, but they're clearly setting you up for a line of tests and ridicule: a nobody coming from some back water, small time bandit gang; sponsored by an exile locked in a crystal cage; and you think you have what it takes to be a Daeva?

I really don't understand some people. This is like complaining about giving Osaka a heavy Southern accent in the English dub of Azumanga Daioh. "It makes her sound dumb, slow, and stupid." Yes, yes it does to you. But is that her fault or your fault?

It's not the fact that they use the slang 'in'-apostrophe, its the DEGREE that they use it. Look at the quests -- literally EVERY word that should terminate with 'ing' instead is 'in'-apostrophe. It reads badly, and looks even worse.

Obviously, slang has its place, but when its overdone, it's just ridiculous.

so I got into the game and I see what cfurlin is talking about. They do use it a bit on certain characters, though not on all for certain. There is one in particular who over does it a bit. Cfurlin, I'm not sure if you've tried it but if you havne't, roll an Elyos. The languae in the Asmo area feels different than the Elyos. It certainly is more course.

I have a lvl 27 char on Elyos and its not an issue there. I don't know what they were thinking when they chose to use some kind of over-hyped bastardization of "hillbilly-speak" for Asmodians, but it really doesn't work at all, IMO.

Of course, you could say the same for dwarves in just about every MMO ever made. You think the slang for Asmodaens is bad? Apparently you haven't had to listen to dwarves in WoW or LOTRO.

Judge not lest you be judged by an unqualified T.V. judge of questionable credentials.

It's better to lurk in forums and be thought a fool...than to endlessly "Quote" and remove all doubts.

I think it may be an Asian thing.  Some of the old dubbed Godzilla movies are a bit over the top on accents as well.

Well, now that I've played two asmo characters to lvl 10 I have to say that it subsides. There is one particular charactyer that used it a lot and I had seen a smattering here and there but it seems to vanish along the way.
