Group Content: 1) How much? A ton of soloing up to this point which is fine but are there "heroic" mobs later on?  2)And what kind?  Are there dungeons?  Group instances with loot tables?

How is raiding?   Is it hack and slash?  or is strategy involved?  Also are there a ton of raid mobs?  In instances or contested?

How's endgame?  Is it mainly PvPvE- the Abyss?  Or are there a ton of instances/raiding?

Can NCWest deviate it's version from the original one?  For instance, let's say they wanted to increase the damage output of a spell or lock encounters?

Group Content

The second you hit the Abyss you will be wanting a group not just for questing grinding but for watching your ass, 6 sets of eyes is better than 1 especially with the added dimensions flight brings to PVP.

Raiding

PVP'r so not entireley sure but from what i have heard.

Nope not just hack n slash it is tactical a poor pull a mismanaged group and its wipe time coupled with the fact these can also be PVP locales and its more of a challenge still.

End Game

Im a all out pvp'r so i didnt really investigate too much i know I saw a lot of groups on there way somewhere and they where definately avoidingall the pvp the best they could so i presume they where of somewhere

I think once the initial release is out NCWest may deviate a few things what appeals to the Asian audience doesnt always appeal to the west and to drive the most revenue from it a few things may have to change.

ie character sounds I absolutely love Aion have been on chinese retail since launch where I had a 4 sec delay at times yet still played because I loved it now that i have experienced the 200+ people on my screen lag free experience of the Eu beta I am even more sold on the fact this is going to be a critical success.

but i detest the asian character sounds not the voice overs because obviously they will change but the actual attack noises a little bit too anime for my tastes so hopefully they will have changed by the time we get to hear the NA/EU voice over's.

Group Content: There is a lot of group content after level 10 and there are "elete" mobs. Dangerous ones. Yes there are dungeons and you can access them after lvl 30. Group instances too.

Raiding: Strategy is involed, trust me. One mess up can mess everybody up and you need a good party leader to mark which mobs should be put to sleep, who should attack, who should heal, etc.

Endgame: Yeah Abyss is PvPvE and a lot of great loot drops and rewards come from Abyss, but that dosen't mean they are not outside of there too. I can't comment much on endgame cuz I stopped at 35.

I think they can, because they have a suggestion forum on the beta forums, but I don't think they would change something like that. That seems to be a lot of the core of the game.

I agree 100% about the anime sounds. But I've read on this forum and elsewhere that new soundsets will be put in place for the release of the game in the western markets.

Exactly how is a sound set in Aion (a Korean game) too "anime" (a designation for animation originating from Japan, no implication about sound effects at all)?

That issue aside, you have noticed that there's four sound sets for each character.  Its a good bet one of those suits your tastes.

Well most anime I've seen had a lot of annoying high pitched squeels and grunts with it (pikachoo and naruto?). It just drove me up a wall listening to that since my siblings like to watch it, i had no choice in the matter. The sounds from the characters in Aion remind me a lot of that, that's why I said anime, didn't mean to offend you with it.

I've tried each sound set, #2 is about the only one I can tolerate while playing.

popular animes often have rather high pitched voices, anime does not only consist of animations but also sounds. you could just as well say that aion sounds too much like japanese porn. and it does. where aion was created does not matter here, the voices sound more like anime and jap porn than they sound like western animations and porn.

A. makes a great point there. The sounds are not Anime, it's just asian people. Asians voices are what you hear in animations, movies, etc. Yeah we had to break it down like that.  Can't argue with him on that.

The Asian people I know certainly don't sound like that.

Well however you break it down or classify it as, it's annoying and detracts from the game, at least to me it does.

FYI, there is also a Korean form of anime.  I can't remember what the technical term for it is off hand.

1) We will get Westernized voices put in

2) In patch 1.3 you can disable all forms of voices.

Where you live at again? I woudln't count westernized asian people.....I went to hawaii and yeah I made an asian girl scream and...it sounds better than the asian female voices. It's not like normal talking they are doing. Many of it is spell casting, hits, etc. and not ment to be norm, but there are some that sounds calm and norm.

If your exposure consists entirely of Pokemon and Naruto, no wonder. Although, I'm willing to bet you've been forced to listen to the English dubs which really ruins a large part of your argument here. (The shows were already aimed at young audiences, the target age lowered even further when dubbed, and horrible voice acting all around.) I'd recommend finding a copy of Millenium Actress (with the original Japanese audio track) or something similar for an example what good animation looks and sounds like.

Out of curiosity, what gender and race were you looking through the sound sets for?
