I would like to announce the first news/community site for the World of Darkness Online MMORPG currently is production is now live!

The site will feature the latest news, rumors and interviews with the devs as well the following:

- MySpace like profile system where you can create your own sub-page with your information and players and guilds can network and meet each other.

- Public Gallery
- Integrated JAVA client IRC chat
- Scheduling system where you can post any events or gatherings you will have

For those following this MMORPG...

A interesting article about MMO's, CCP and Eve Online however there is a quick blurb about WoD Online as follows:

After the release of Eve Online’s expansion in March, the company will focus on creating another multi-player game based on the popular World of Darkness fictional universes created by White Wolf.

So as some predicted it does seem first half of this year is going to be when things really ramp up, March exactly.

It's based on the Pen and Paper RPG by White Wolf  Vampire:The Requiem (Previously Vampire: The Masquarade). The single player PC game that came out a few years ago Vampire: Bloodlines was based on the game system and setting.

In a nutshell the World of Darkness setting is a fictional world similar to ours however with a much more gothic influence, a little more leaning towards anarchy with the vampires of night pulling the strings behind the scenes of the moral world. All most all mortals as in our world, in WoD think vampires are a myth, however there are many clans and factions of them not only fighting between themselves (both politically and physically) but also age old wars with the like of werewolfs and other monsters of the night.

World of Darkness is probably one of the most daunting IPs I could imagine, but the payoff is the sheer wealth of high-quality lore on hand.  Back when I used to play there were the core systems, Vampire: The Masquerade, Mage: The Ascension and Werewolf: The Apocalypse.  There were also all kinds of additional sub-rulesets added for wraiths, mummies, angels and just about every kind of supernatural beastie you could think of...I'll never forget the time our Storyteller introduced the Freak Legion material...man...that was just....wrong.

Depending on what source you wish to beleive 2010 or 2011 are the target dates. All this info can be found on my site.

Some interesting new info however slight is now posted on the front page news, FYI.

Bleh, World of Darkness. Bunch of goth vampires running around hating the fact they are immortal. Now Age of Sorrow. That is an awesome game system (also made by White Wolf) They should have just skipped the Vampire/Werewolf thing and gone striaght to Exalted. Would have been awesome

In few words... gothic emo waste of time mmo

WoD is like a fine wine. To those familiar with it, it is excellence. To those used to swill (WoW, WAR, FF and so on) they are over whelmed by it and thus turned off by it for the only reason it is beyond them. :)
 

so Darkfail 2.0? Actually even Adventurine can put together a better site than that.

Back in the day my friends would go over board with it.

Our Rp sessions would usually turn into Orgy's.

Had my First 2 girl 1 guy sex session playing Masquerade, In NYC we took that shit alittle too far in the village.

The mere fact that I'm familiar/have heard of  World of Darkness and don't have a clue as to what Age of Sorrow is makes  it seem unlikely.

That the creators behind EvE Online is behind this makes me interested even though I am not that much into vampires. :)

This honestly amazes me considering how big the vampire/werewolf craze has been in the past 10 years.  Not to mention the mere concept lends itself perfectly to a PvP centric MMO. 

I'm glad CCP picked it up.  They're probably the only company I trust to make an deep, involved, dark, ominous, and brutal PvP game that the IP deserves.

i greatly fear that the site we loved so much has met the final death.  my browser simply returnes with url cannot be found :(   if anyone (that's your cue harlequin) knows waht happened or may happen in the future, please reply or message me or anything.

CCP + WoD = pure awesomness, if they do it right.I think we gonna have to wait till 2012 to see the game live but meanwhile we can enjoy this trailer.
