I did the google thing, and the only trial download I found was fileplanet, where I have to pay extra for decent download speeds.  I'm not even sure that trial will work.

In the last month this game is up, is there any way for me to stick my head in and see what the game was all about?  I'd like to check it out before it closes down forever.

I don't want to write this, and you don't want to read it. But now it's too late for both of us.

Get a station account and get the station launcher. Once inside the launcher there should be the matrix online and it should say try it or something like that, thats the best way i can think of trying the game out and who knows maybe SoE will open out the game for everyone for free like TR was.

It's f2p now.  I was able to log into MxO.  Taking a bunch of screenshots of my characters before the game cease to be.
