So I have way WAY too many PC game boxes I have collected over the years. Most of them are old games that no longer work because of issues with newer OSes, MMOs that have gone under or are really old school now, games that were just not much fun, etc. I am kinda liking the idea of just downloading everything from now on...hence STEAM. So what would be the positive and negative points to getting AION on STEAM? I am not looking to be in beta, so you can skip that. Is STEAM a bloated resource hog with several other hidden apps (ala bloatware, spyware, etc.)? Will AION preformance suffer if using STEAM? Will I miss out on anything with the STEAM version (i.e. high res textures, etc.)? Thoughts? Currently Playing: Casually Playing: Waiting for: |

When you buy and download a game from steam it will just be the same game as when you buy the box. So don't worry. Steam is a professional downloading source so you won't have spyware or things like that. I just checked my steam and I can't see a release date for AION yet. But it will probably be there soon. ------------------------------------------------------------------- |

Advantages: Can download when needed. Client is lightweight. Auto updates while Steam is running. Steam freinds' list tells you who else is on and what they're playing. Steam Voice chat through friends list. Steam overlay sits infront of the Aion Client and Notifies you when friends log in.
Disadvantages: You have to download the client on each comp you want to use. Download does take longer than using DvDs. Cannot run more than one instance of the client at a time. Steam fused games are difficult to mod.
