They must be slugs. There was plenty of light, I know they have eyes, surly they could see my foot, surly they could feel the vibrations of my feet walking.

Do they move out of they way? no, of course not, they were being stubborn and figured that I would move but no, I did not. I gave them a chance but they were very stupid. Now they are flat.

I vote SLUGS to be the dumbest creatures on earth.

Dogs. Or horses.

Probably dogs.

Scientologists.

I never blame myself when I'm not hitting. I just blame the bat, and if it keeps up, I change bats. After all, if I know it isn't my fault that I'm not hitting, how can I get mad at myself?

Depends on how you define the term:

Least cognitive function: viruses

worst at living up to potential: humans

Not playing MMOs, and hating every minute of it.

I've gotta wonder what's wrong with you people.  Do you only listen to the news all day?  Lock your doors everytime you drive through the city?

There are plenty of amazing things that humans have done and plenty of examples of heroic leadership, rescues, self sacrifices, art, music, poetry and so much more that sets humans apart from every thing else.  Do you wake up in the morning and hate looking at yourself in the mirror because your the dumbest thing on Earth?  A poor exscuse for a person for not being more than you can be?  Or do you just lump everyone together and call them dumb and have the audacity exclude yourself from that statement?

I didn't say there were no bright spots amidst the gloom.

Individuals and small groups have done wonderful things, that is certainly true. But all that does is show how pathetically far away from our maximum potential the majority of human beings really are. Let us take Mahatmas Gandhi for example, his successes in rallying his people should never have been necessary, the simple fact that the kind of oppression that caused him to act was enforced by so many of our people in the midst of what we consider an enlightened age is shameful.

Human progress has been marked by the efforts and successes of individuals, often meeting stiff resistance from the rest of the world, the mass of humanity do little with their lives unless rallied by a catalystic individual(s).

Therefore sir, I ask you this. What have you done with your life? Are you really living up to the standards that have been set by those you mention? Or are you, like myself and so many others, waiting for someone else to step up for you?

I define myself by my own stances not those given by people around me.  I do what I can when I can.  I'm not on any PBS Power Pledge nor do I participate in roadside litter removal volunteer programs.  I do what I'm good at.  I stop and help people when I can, pushing cars off the road letting people use my cell phone to get help if I cannot provide it.  I tell jokes around work to brighten peoples day.  I live in my little segment of the world doing what I can.  I'm not a great orator, I would never sway the masses and lead millions to the White House but I could help in those events.  I've tried and done and will not stop nor will I let the thought of people like you that consider the rest of humanity dumb or that there are people out there whose job in life is to keep me from moving forward.

Your focused on the negative aspects of many events.  Your Gandhi story is a great example.  He acted and changed the world for the better.  That's the story not the one that he had to do it in the first place.  It's common knowledge that people will have to stand up for what is good and right in this world.

We are not pathetically far away from our potential.  We are just away from it.  We are moving towards it.  It is not a long road, it is not a short road.  The road just is.  We travel it knowing that things will be better in the end.  We look back at the fallen on the road and cherish them for what they have done for us to move us forward.  We toss those that would hold us back from the road and never think of them again.  The greatest story is that we are moving forward.  We cannot know how far we have come because we do not know how far we are going yet we can study where we started.  In comparison we can know that we are different than when we started and that is good.

I never blame myself when I'm not hitting. I just blame the bat, and if it keeps up, I change bats. After all, if I know it isn't my fault that I'm not hitting, how can I get mad at myself?
