I don't really have an arguement against that.  To each his own.

No, no, no.  In Spanish they rate things from 10 to 0, with 10 being the worst and 0 being the best.  So in other words, 9.5 is almost the worst possible score.  If you understand this then the rest of their review scores will make more sense.

Back on topic,i would say ANY game review that is above a 9 is just a biased review,there is no mathematical chance a game could surpass 9.That is basically saying it is near perfect and could never be improved upon.To gain  an over all rating of 9.5 that would mean there is several parts of the game rated as a 10 to make up for the parts that are only a 9 or less.PERFECTION??please there is no such thing as perfection from anyone.

My early review of DF,i gave it a graphical rating equal to around EQ2's quality,that is fine but not breaking edge but still quite decent.For those that think graphics do not mean much,how else are you suppose to bring a game to life,if not for the graphics?Unless i am missing something,we have only five senses and we need  to use as many of them as we can to make a true to life game,including sounds and music ,it "ALL" must come together to produce a top notch game.When i say EQ2 like quality i mean only the tech not all the aspects that go into graphics and there is many aspects.

The mere fact that DF offers nothing to a PVE excusive player or at least VERY little,means the game caters to a one dimensional crowd,that lowers its rating right there.

For those that love DF's PVP,that is great ,i am glad people are having fun playing the game they are in,but if you want to discuss aspects of the game with others,be prepared to have people that do not agree on some aspects,maybe even most of the game.

i have a question or two about your graphics' rating...

do you rate animations separately?  or, when you're rating graphics, you include most everything you can see on the screen, i.e. animations also. 

i say this, because character animations in darkfall are quite awful... and while you might think shadows and grass swaying in the wind (in darkfall) is quite realistic... it loses all realism for me when a 200 foot tall tree is swaying in the breeze -- at the base of the tree!   serious hurricane winds there; yet, my character's completely unaffected by it.

so to compare darkfall's graphics favourably to eq2's, i would think the person doing the comparison doesn't really like eq2's graphics, or is not including animations.

animations can break immersion, or make someone dislike the looks of a game; so, i would think they should be taken into account when rating the graphics.  yes?

I have never played DFO so I give it a 10.  Unless you dont like the game then I give it  a 01. 

I think that covers my review of who gives a crap anymore.  The long trolling threads have lost thier fun.  /sigh

So you refuse to accept a rating from something that you understand because you do not like the score. But, you accept the review you have no idea what it says because you like the score? You officialy lost all credibility with that logic. You will have to create a new username to sell DF, this one just expired.

He's quite possibly the only person I've ever met where betting against him saying anything at all in defense of DF/AV/Tasos would always be a losing bet.

That said... I think one could play Devil's Advocate really easily with this review by simply turning the question back on the rabid fans that they have for anyone giving DF a negative review: "Who are MMORPG Espana, and why do they matter?"

That they gave it a 9.5 - half a full point away from a, presumably, perfect score - is as suspect as, if not moreso than, someone giving it a 2. There are few games, much less MMOs out there, that I think would be fairly given a near perfect score; DF is not one of them.

Of course, you won't hear any outcry from the rabid fans, Tasos, or the AV camp this time around because it's a favorable score. So predictable, isn't it?. Bunch of hypocrites.

out of curiousity -- what does it matter what all these different sites rate darkfall in their so-called reviews?  we have had numerous threads on THIS forum, which have gone into GREAT detail about the positives and negatives about what was promised for the past decade, what was delivered, and all aspects of interaction with this game and the company/people behind it.

we have had people outrightly LIE when presented with FACTUAL INFORMATION (not opinion) about darkfall and its current state.

we darkfall players, quite honestly, are sick and tired of misinformation about OUR GAME.  we are tired of blind fanboiism making up bullshit lies.  why?  because people new to the forum read those lies, join the game, and within a day or two get so pissed off that they were lied to about the game - that they quit without giving the game a real try.

no?  must be why there's never a queue to login... cuz there sure as hell would be a queue with just 8 or 9k concurrent users on this game.

tl:dr version - don't lie when talking about darkfall - people WILL hate you for it.

I live in Spain, have been playing computer games since the top computers have 8 bits/16k memory and its the first time i hear from them

after extensive playing... and keeping in mind contemporary games.. i give it a solid 1.9... the pvp, probably a 1.0.

Meristation gives it a 7, it's readers give it a 6.4 .

I didn't find any reference as to how Meristation rates games. Might have missed it.

These reviewer however has the core values of MMORPG's right.  Beside that DF is lots of fun to play.

I personally rate DF as an 8.

But they gave WAR a 7.4 so they were forced to give DF that high rating to make the difference sound.

weird, i still don't need google to speak for me.

eve's already btdt and has 300k subs.  so for an even MORE niche - ffa pvp w/full looting (whatever loot isn't outrightly destroyed) but in SPACE... eve has shown that niche does NOT mean 5k people and no more.

the mounted combat is different.  that's all.

i only wish you would play this game and have opinions to express on the game, rather than relying on google and spanish reviewers... yet flaming people who give 2.0 and 4.0 ratings...

what about sieges (the core part of the game) is it that YOU think makes this game great?  in numerous posts, i have pointed out SOME of the problems with sieges, that are game mechanic issues.

risk vs reward is completely out of whack in this game.   how many "hard" mobs cost more to kill than what they drop, AND take a while to kill, even with them being stuck/glitched?   matter of fact - there is no risk in pve, if you have half a brain and do the STANDARD --- get the mob stuck/glitched and attack from relative safety.

so, 2 is out the window.

3 no instances.  um, big whoop?  uo has no instances, eq has no instances, eve has no instances... ryzom? others.   no instances... moot point.

4 innovative combat system.  and i'm supposed to take these comments seriously?  like i said, the mounted combat is different... that's all.  the combat system isn't anything special -- oooooooo it's fps?  so that means i should compare THIS combat to fps combat, yes?  in that case - it's total garbage.

now, back to 1 (do you have any opinions on anything about this game? cuz all i ever seem to see from you is copy/paste from someone/place else... wtf over)... back to 1. crafting > drop.  again, what do i care?  everyone and there mother is crafting everything; and for the most part - it's all the same... and it's all being used to skill up to 100s.  in THEORY, crafting > drop is a great idea.   the crafting in THIS game, simply put, is like everything else about this game - poorly thought out, horribly implemented and just BAD.

so, are you ever going to play this game and actually put your thoughts/observations, or do we just have a bunch more non-english ratings and google copy/pastes to look forward to?

One minor correction Damian, EQ had one expansion that was TOTALLY made of  instances.

Otherwise keep up the good fight, but I really don't understand why anyone wastes their time with such obsequious sycophantic failbois like Darth. It is obvious what his age group is and that he has never played Dork-n-Fail or any other MMORPG for that matter.

As to the 3rd world reviews of DnF who cares? I really don't care too much how a "MMO" site or "gaming site" in a computer and economic powerhouse like Spain rates anything. Hell AV has only gotten one review from their own country and that was back in Beta.
