Disney was showing off World of Cars Online during demonstrations at E3 2009. Our own Tricia Bennon took in the display and reports back with this initial preview of the upcoming kids MMO based off the Pixar movie. Set to release later this year, World of Cars Online, is a free to play game based on the hugely popular and successful Cars ™ franchise. Working closely with Pixar, Disney targets this flash based, 3D game toward players aged 8 to 11. However, like the movie, World of Cars has an appeal that will draw car enthusiasts of almost all ages. (That would be all of you “gear head” parents out there!) Read her report here. Each element, from the type of rims and tires available to players to how the cars behave on the track, is designed to be authentic to capture the spirit of actually racing a car on a track. I'm sold. :)

He's turning 7 this fall and is VERY into the movie 'Cars' :)

I have watched this with my kids probably a hundred times over the last several years. It is one of those movies I can just watch over and over. I hope the game is as well done!

This is THEE worst idea for an MMO in the history OF EVER and I dare anyone to try to defy that because you know im right. Not even kidding if this is ever released i may quit MMO's altogether.
