They are just kinda in your way alot of the time.  You like finishing quests and getting the whole story.  You get frustrated and complain when something requires a group.  You will join them but only grugingly. Often you skip lower level instances and go back when you can do them alone.  You often re-roll and experience all the classes. If someone sends you a message you usualy ignore then, quit often very frustrated. You get very frustrated when people steal your grinding areas.

That, and I also enjoy crafting and social roleplaying. I enjoy the company of other players and love to chat while I'm doing things, but I hate being dependant on other people to get anything done and would rather solo while chatting than group.

I am somewhere in between the Social and the Solo Artists.

I play through all the content, roll alts to go back through the content from a different perspective, and am always capable of soloing group content either at or just below my level. On the other hand, I have nothing against joining a group that is going somewhere interesting and hold a firm belief that having a substantial percentage of the games content being group orientated is required to build community within a game.

botters can belong to several of the above catagories, including Solo Artist, Griefer, Hater, and Asian Farmer.

I play mostly for content but I am not anti-social. I socialize alot when I am playing but I don't buy the game for a way to socialize and meet people. I use real life for that.

Seriously, none of the descriptions fit me at all.  I solo a lot, but it's out of necessity, not desire.  In fact, I spent a good portion of my weekend playtime doing a series of solo quests so I could use a set of buffs that are primarily intended to be used in teamplay.

I'm not usually a griefer except when someone really, really deserves it.  Someone spent the whole weekend on org chat whining because he couldn't get anywhere with his character.  We patiently explained how to do everything he wanted to do and he said it was all too hard and he just wanted it now, waaaaaaaah!  What an idiot.

I'm social, but only about in-game matters, I had to tell someone recently that I play to get away from RL, not to sit around and talk about it.  I'm probably one of the most helpful, talkative people in org chat, I'm always ready to lend a hand to help people, but mindless jabber doesn't interest me.

I'm absolutely not a gloryhound, I don't care about all the l33t gear, if I get it fine, if I don't, so what?  I'm playing to enjoy myself and I'm practical in doing so, I don't care if my character looks a certain way, I care if he performs the way I want.  Looks are entirely irrelevant to me.

So... none of the above, but parts of them could fit me in certain circumstances.

Played: UO, EQ, WoW, DDO, SWG, AO, CoH, EvE, TR

i'm a solo artist

the reason why i prefer solo is because i've met many rude people in several mmos and they made me disappointed. i can't do anything about this... sad memories : / i do have friends and i do party if that's the only way to finish a quest or something, but i'll always prefer solo and i do not want to get close to people. i recently found 3 very good friends on Fiesta, we often play together but sometimes i need a little space, go to do quests alone and learn more about my character's abilities. i always respect people who reach a high level alone, without help. also, i mostly play MMOs because of the game itself and my character (it's good to be someone else). if MMOs were simple pc games i would still play 'em because i like to have a cute little virtual character xD it's just fun...

You forget the "achiever" who wants to power level, max dps, have best equipment and get achievemnt. It is different than a glory hound.

I'm more on the social type of mmo players. I like playing mmo games because of my friends. I enjoyed playing it, if I have a lot of friends on the game. Yes, i think your right on what you wrote about social type of mmo.. Well that is because I really quit on playing if some of my friends are also quitting. Well in my on opinion, It's much better if you enjoyed playing the game with everyone that you know.
