hello, i started playing ff11 today and i was wondering if i can change the controls. im on a laptop dunno if it makes any difference. sry if i have spelt things wrong im not that good at it :) |

Worldy, sorry I'm not going to be any help on this one, but I am also wanting to know if the control scheme can be altered. I tried to play FFXI, and just absolutely could not get beyond the control scheme. It's sad, because I love the idea of Final Fantasy Online.

Yes, there is. I actually prefer the laptop keyboard controls to the normal ones anyways. Here's how to change it: In the game open the menu, hit -> to change to the second menu. Go to Config and then I think Gameplay. There should be different categories include Misc 1 and Misc 2. Go to Misc 2. In this window there is a controls option for Normal or Compact. Set it to Compact. You will now move with ASDW and the camera with the arrow keys. |

I hated the controls when I first played FFXI too. eventually I picked up a controller, set it to the default settings, and instantly loved the menu-based UI a simple ps2 controller really does make the game better IMO |
